I was just thinking about all the "evil Ouiji board" stories I've heard and wondered "Do I just hang around with weirdos or do other people think that too" So where better to go for a Scientific study than DC.com!! Oh, feel free to post any experiences  :popcrn:

Just a game to me. We're always laughing so hard while playing, nothing serious could ever happen.

Never played it but watched it being played once or twice. I was sitting across from a guy playing it who kept looking over his shoulder. Finally he looked at me and asked me if there was anyone behind him. I said no and he turned white, then stood up and walked away quite shaken. He said there was definitely someone or something behind him looking over his shoulder as he played but it wasn't anyone at the party. And I saw nothing.

Meh, I've tried to gain access to the portal of evil that Ouija is supposed to be.  The only thing I got out of it was a headache...

i had one experience with them. i was a bystander, and a few people playing kept asking for a name. it kept going to NO. they would ask other questions then ask for a name again. I told them it didnt want to be known. but they kept at it. then the glass thing got hurled across the room into the wall. Everyone there that night said they had a bunch of weird shit happen to them the following weeks, except me. I told them its because I told them to leave it be, so it left me be.

Believe it or not, those damn things dont go anywhere near my house. someone brought one to my house one night when we had a party, i told them to put it outside. when they refused i hurled it onto the front lawn. Some things shouldnt be messed with.

God takes a dim view of such things. Whether it works or not, you have to ask yourself what are you saying to God about his commandments?
Here are just a few:

The practice of witchcraft is forbidden by God. "When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 18:9-13, NIV.

Those who practice witchcraft will not inherit the kingdom of God. "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; ...drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21, NIV.

The future is known only by God, not witches. "So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting witches and mediums. Don't listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask your God?" Isaiah 8:19, TLB.

There are things we/I don't fully understand, and I don't care to. Summoning the dead is one of them. Never played, but heard stories.

If there's a "real" "Otherside", I want to find out in my own time, not by some board game that summoned up Elvis or something. Although, I guess it would be kinda cool to ask Hank why he took all the pills and drank so.

I was wondering when we'd get off the political and the GL threads and went into the realm of religion and magic!   :2thumbs:

It's a game, don't get too excited.

Nothing more evil than the human mind, no need to go looking for the front door.

Years ago we tried one for kicks and the couch started to vibrate.   Don't know what it was but we quit playing and took the couch to the dump.  The scary part is years later we heard a member here had a spooky paranormal vibrating couch problem.   :shruggy:    You tell me.

I have personally never used one as I have been told different stories of what had happened after using one. I believe whole heartedly they are Satanic, My mother said when she was eleven her and a group of girls were at a slumber party and used one and they proceeded to levitate a girl from the directions the "Oujia" board gave, she said when she saw the girl come off the floor she had a gut feeling that it was evil and never touched another one in her life. As A34 said it is pure "Witchcraft" God said not to converse with spirits (Demons) I also personally believe that "Ghosts" are not spirits of humans wandering the earth as I believe you either go to Hell or Heaven as soon as you pass but rather demons that manipulate themselves to potray the people that had lived upon this earth. Satan is a liar and deceiver.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

You guys haven't lived till you've played it with Dio's "Holy Diver" album playing at full blast.

But really, I personally find the living far scarier than the dead.

 A gut feeling? Is that like getting a gut feeling your car will get damaged while sliding sideways toward a guard rail?

I know of some real bizarre scary stories surrounding them including some of my dads friends. It scared the hell out of one of them so much after a incredible string of bad luck after messing with one, he took it out, and shot it full of holes. Never had any bad luck after that he said.

Straying from the topic slightly, when I was a boy, my father told me a true story about himself and some friends going out for a couple of drinks one night  and after several they started telling ghost stories. They were pretty scary stories. Anyway, after some time when the drink had started to do the talking they dared one of the guys to go home via the cemetery and hammer a nail into some particular dead person's tombstone. The guy although scared shitless didn't want to show himself as being a coward and said he'd do it.

The next day he was found dead beside the grave...........he died of a heart attack believed to have been caused after accidentally nailing his jacket to the tombstone and finding that he couldn't get away. Remember it was dark. They think he may have thought that that the ghost of that grave had grabbed hold of him.
