How could you hate school,were you bullied?

doesn't 25 years make a big difference in the schooling experience ?

                                                                                                  when I went to high school in the 70's our "class master " used to mark our names off at the beginning of the day  by lining us up around the room and "marking" our name off the roll by giving you a "cut " of the cane on both hands before telling you to take you seat     why did I hate school

That sucks.  At least the teacher was paying attention to what you were doing.  Except for a handful of teachers, I was ignored by the others when I had a problem.  Now, if I was causing trouble.....

                                                   Bullied some, ridiculed a lot,[mostly very subtly by teachers] painfully shy, and I come from a time when a lotta stuff went undiagnosed. Dyslexia just wasn't recognized......easy to be taken for stupid when a quarter of what you see makes no sense at all. Wasn't all bad.......just most of it.

                                              oh, that's familiar. No doubt, my mind works a bit different......so it was either I was behind.....or I would jump ahead.....so I was still the odd one out. Think the worst was I was so shy, I wouldn't speak up at all. I don't blame the teachers completely. Some tried.....but too many just smugly thought I was stupid and beneath their help.

                                       Always told my kids....I wasn't normal. Normal was average......I dam sure wasn't average and didn't want to be.

                                            Haha, told my kids the type of same thing, don't grow old, just be responsible, nothing better that feeling like a 50 yr old teen, that has done his duty...so to speak...
