Date code for a 68 charger rt 440 coil

 Im having trouble finding out the correct date code for the coil on my 68 rt 440. The car is matching no.s factory manual surviver in good condition. There are number of small things i have to replace to bring it back as close to factory correct as possible, the coil being one of them. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the SPD of the car (Scheduled Production Date)

According to MMC Detroit who made up this handy date code reference chart, an ignition coil  could have a date 120 days prior to the cars actual build date

Thanks for your help, the car was built on January 10. I'll give the web site a look.
I live in Australia so everything i need to get for the car i want to make sure its right the first time round as its not cheap to bring parts over!

Hey, your car is really close to mine! Same color, trans, rear, and within a week of production. Did yours have an Inland or Hurst shifter?

Hey mate, my car has the hurst shifter. I know they had problems with the inland shifter which didnt last that long after production started but im not certain on the month when the change over took place. From all the checks and re-checking i've done, the car comes up with everything matching no.s or date code correct. The car was built at Hamtramck and delivered to Jack Nelson Dodge and the original owner took delivery on Febuary 2.

Mine is an Inland. It's well documented how much worse it is than the Hurst. The changeover was mid-year, so approximately when our cars were built.

I don't have ownership information.

Mine is also an original 4 speed R/T with a SPD of Dec 8.  It came with the Inland shifter also.  Did yours also come with the vacuum delay valve for the dist.?   I was sent a photo of the engine bay from the mid 70's from the 2nd owner, and it does show the green vac. dist valve on mine.
