What is the correct rear defogger switch for a 69?

Does it say R.DEF or R.WIND?  Both are convertable top switches as well correct?  Ie they say TOP on one side?  There's only one on ebay that says R.WIND but that price is way up there.

In other words, "R DEF" would appear to be correct.

Thanks gents.  Now comes the impossible task to find an affordable one.

Are those switches used on anything else?  I can make the black button myself if I have to.

So apart from the print on the button these are the same for 69/70 and other mopars from those years?  Are you selling that one?  If those are rare I wouldn't want to change the lettering to say R.DEF though.

You know, I could probably fill the lettering with an epoxy, paint it black and use transfer decal lettering like some members did with their a/c controls.  If ever it needs to be reverted back it should be easy enough to break away the epoxy.

I'll PM you back, I may take the whole thing.

I'd just leave it as is and continue to look for the right one and then sell the 70 style one.

Oh sure, make sense why don't you.   :icon_smile_big:

That's a good idea, if someone is in need of a 70 switch and I can find a 69 switch then I'd be happy to pass it on.

I just noticed my mailbox was full, sorry about that nascar, it's clear now.

So is it a 70 style and you seriously didn't know or is it a 69 AND 70 piece and you are being sarcastic?

What's the trunk release from?  You have one of the vacuum operated latches right?  I was looking at the electric version with the round push button but yours looks better.

Interesting.  That's the one I'm after.  Problem is, they've used tose, or similar, throughout the ninetees at least.  Is there a way to tell them apart?  Were the ones that fit our cars only made certain years?

Whoops!  I am putting my dash back together now, and have added a rear defroster to the car.  Does the switch shown above require a section of metal notched out of the dash frame on a 69 Charger that did not originally come with rear defrost?  I don't see how this switch can fit my current dash.

Mike

nascarxx29

Its got a cut out in the dash frame for 69-70.And switch screws in attached to special bracket to the dash
