I ordered one for my 72. It can take 3 1/2" or 4" speakers from what I read about it. Anyone use these yet?

The thread I found them on

Made mine.  If you have an old speaker as a template, it is easy. In fact the most difficult part was finding the material to cut.  Those are 3.5.

3 1/2" is what you need

How does everyone wire them up as most stereos don't have a center speaker option (unless you use "mono" instead of "stereo")

if i was using those I would just wire them as left and right. but I tend to keep my bias centered side to side.

The speaker mounting plate came in a few weeks ago. A nicely made piece. I installed a set of Kicker 3 1/2" speakers. Only problem I had was the HVAC duct sits high on the drivers side in the factory speaker opening in the dash. Tried to mount the speakers on the bottom of the plate but the drivers side speaker touched the duct and would not allow the mounting plate to sit all the way down against the dash. I had to make the speaker openings in the mounting plate larger to fit the 3 1/2" speakers in from the top. Worked out better and the dash cover plate still fit without touching the tweeters. The sound is greatly improved with the front speakers installed. For little 3 1/2" speakers they even added to the bass, very surprising. They did not come with Bass blockers. I think Kickers are known for the Bass they put out. I really like deep Bass!  :METAL:  :punkrocka:
