The attached pictures are the green interior paint around my doors---the body color was Y3 creme.  I'm painting the car R6 red.  Interior will be black.

I'll be applying black where the green is in the attached pictures.  Should it be gloss, semi-gloss, or something part way between?

I've looked everywhere but cannot seem to find anything that specifies this.

IMHO it should be gloss.
That green paint looks like factory-level gloss paint.

Gloss black out of a spray can will be close to a factory sheen. If you use high-end automotive urethane out of a gun it might be too glossy.

Here's the factory paint code for black.

Chrysler code  AY1TX9                          Ditzler code      9300

Maybe that'll be of some help for a proper finish.

So based on the chart in the last response, for the 69 Charger, interior black paint (not the dash or steering column) would I buy code 9000 or code 9300 for my interior door surfaces.  I'm not sure I can determine which one is correct from the chart.

Chart shows that the integral door and quarter inner frames should be the 9300 and have a exterior gloss finish.  Integral I would assume means the parts that are visible when the door is closed.

That was kind of my thought---that is, 9300 would be the right choice.  I acknowledge Bills reply about spray bomb cans.  But I still want to see what some of the 9300 looks like sprayed out.  I was able to determine that Sherwin Williams still makes this.  I have not been able to determine which of the two Sherwin Williams part numbers is 9000 and which is 9300.  The two Sherwin Williams numbers on some of the paint ref charts are 1738 and 40423.

If you look at the green in my attachments, it looks like the paint has some kind of metallic appearance.

I had Sherwin Williams mix up some 1738 and 40423.  I don't know which is 9000 and which is 9300 and neither did they.  But they said that 1738 is pure black.  And 40423 has some other stuff mixed in with the black.  Should be interesting to see what they look like.

Those of you that have black interior 69 chargers--------is the color around the door pads pure black or does it seem to be a kind of mix with black being the predominant color?  I don't have one painted like that to look at.

The 9300 is just the paint CODE. It is probably long superceded by now. (FYI, Ditzler no longer exists. The modern day name is now PPG.)
It all depends what kind of paint you mix it in.
If you are after factory gloss & looking to use a spray gun try having it mixed in a single stage acrylic enamel. If you can't get that, then a low-grade urethane might be a good second choice, & for that you could go with PPG's Omni low line or something similar.
My '68's door frames were painted in gloss black Krylon years ago, they still look good. I also recently sprayed BananaDan's door frames with gloss black Dupli-Color, they also came out great. You can also get Dupli-Color in quarts that can be sprayed out of a gun if you're on a budget as well.
On the flip side I've also used hi and lo-end urethane's for over-restoration. It all depends what you're going for with the resto.

The same paint is also used on that inside metal strip that covers the headliner clips along the side glass.

I bought some of the Sherwin Williams 1738 and 40423.  Just enough to spray some test cards.  The 1738 is pure black and the other is very close.  We carried the cards out to a 70 Roadrunner body which had the black around the inner door.  The 1738 looked the best and matched what was on the Roadrunner.  So that's what I'm going with.
