Did you have to pay any import duties or Federal tax?

I got some repro magnum centercaps a couple weeks ago.   No doodies.   But it was $20 S&H on a box that was probably under 2 lbs.

Thanks.

Sounds like they learned well from Year One.

I don't know why people living in USA don't order from www.beaparts.com  :shruggy:  I hear its the same stuff, with less shipping, better service, and money staying in USA (Ohio). :scratchchin:

Seems like a no brainer to me. :patriot:

I think it's the Ohio part.  They just screwed the rest of the country out of billions if not trillions.  :nana: That's enough on that subject.

China and the other countries have enough of our money, they don't need any more.

I'm all for keeping money in the US or bringing more over here, legally, of course :D  Just thought I'd clarify.

Because P.G. Classic has eBay auctions, with at least the possibility of a much reduced price, and BE&A does not. In either case, the majority of the money goes to China. Probably the Red one.

In my dealings with PG through ebay, their auction stated a certain amount for shipping to my area of the country and they ended up charging me more for shipping After the auction closed of course).  Not only that, they ended up charging me sales tax which no where on the auction it stated that they were going to charge tax.  AND I LIVE IN CANADA!  It's cheaper for me to deal with BE&A in the US.

Have never bought from PG, but I have bought from B, E, and A and highly recommend them.

I know at least one of the members here bought a dash pad from them and it arrived damaged. The box was fine but the dash pad was warped at one end, so it was not damaged in shipping.

He had to pay shipping to get a damaged dash pad to him, and then shipping to send it back.

Of course he wanted the non-damaged dash pad that he bought, and told them this when he sent the damaged one back, but they just refunded his money minus shipping.

So he was out shipping on a damaged dash pad both ways. And then the guy (Peter Gee) would obsessively call him over and over asking for more money back, because he had to pay something at the post office to just pick up the damaged item.

I decided to elect myself as a guinea pig, since the price of a full dash bezel set was potentially so cheap on their eBay auction. Turned out I got the set for $60 cheaper than either they or BE&A list. I called to see if they could combine shipping on a set of blue headrests, and the woman I talked to was very accommodating. Then my plans went off the rails. She told me that only the black and the white headrests are molded colors, and all the rest are painted at the factory. Bummer.

So I ended up not ordering anything else, but at least they were willing to help.

The parts arrived exactly on time and they're beautiful. In regards to complaints in another post that some of the pieces don't fit, it'll be a while before I get to that project, so I don't know about that, yet.

Yeah, shipping was expensive, but the whole deal was $300 cheaper than Year One, even taking into account YO's "new lower price," so I'm happy with my experience. They're probably even the same parts, from the same Chinese company.

Ghoste

I wonder if thats true of all the headrests out there or if some are coming from a different manufacturer?

Is the headrest market big enough for more than one manufacturer? Since there is no economy of scale in producing five different molded colors, if there is more than one, I'd bet the process is the same. I'd love to be proven wrong, and I'm more than willing to pay extra for molded blue headrests.

I'll post a question about how the well the paint wears in the Interior section.

Ghoste

I don't know.  I can't imagine there being more than a couple at most but with as cheaply as some of this stuff has been getting done in China, who knows?

Ooops! Six colors. I forgot tan.
