While at my dear mama's for Turkey day, I found myself rifling through some old pics. These are some of my Pop (Dead), my brother's 1969 Charger R/T, My 1967 Belvedere II, A couple of my 1982 Z/28 Camaro, A few faint background shots of my 1965 Satellite, my pop's 1968 Caddy, a 1957 Ford Hd Top retractable my pop WON in a raffle, and some of my best friend's 1966 Coronet 500 back in high school.

Hope these bring you as much joy as they bought me. (Pics are fuzzy as I had to take pictures of pictures, and it isn't as easy as it sounds).

More to come.

These were taken around 1987-1988. My bro. had just bought this thing from the second owner for $2000.00 with a 383 in place of the long gone 440. It was a 440/727/8 3/4 3.23 Sure grip car. Took the 383 to machine shop, while there, shop burnt down. Owner decided to replace engine, so my bro. decided to hunt down a 1969 440 "HP" for it. He and one of my best friends helped dump it in after machine work.

A few more of the R/T. Tis sad to say, but my brother wrecked this car totalling it. Broke his sternum, jaw in 6 places, and he was drinking through a straw for over 3 months. Shame, because at the time, we were fighting like cats and dogs. Couldn't hold a conversation without fighting. It was the only time my brother asked for me was that night. I thought even at 17, he must be dying or something if he wants me there at the scene. Was so picky about this car, he would Repaint the oil drain plug after changing the oil. Dust couldn't settle on this thing. He was never right afterwards, saying "Why put your heart and soul into something only to have someone take it all away?"

NICE.....Reminds me of when I put my 383 in my '69 about 5 years ago. Brings back some memories!

This was my first car. This is me in the driver's seat on the dealer lot. I'll never forget the dealer's name. "Larry's used car sales"

Just got the 340 torn down and ready to go to machine shop.

I had just gotten the 340 built and installed. Had to primer the body to be "cool".

And this was after I wrecked it. Rolled it twice. Lucky I didn't kill me and My brother.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Cooter

This is my brother with my best friend in HS.

Some time after the Charger, my brother resurected this beast from our uncle who parked it in 1976. a 1968 Plymouth Fury 4dr. 318. It was eventually painted black with flames.

This was pop's 1968 Cadillac Convertable. He loved this car. used to cruise it in parades with a sign on the side saying "Boss Hogg".

Gettin' Cadillac Painted around 1981

This was one of FOUR (4) of my pop's favorite cars. 1956 Ford. He had the ONLY 3-DOOR 1956 Ford in our county. He had wrecked a 4dr sedan and when the bodyshop owner "Munk" Cash told him all he had was a 2dr sedan, Pop said "fix it"....So, it was a 2dr sedan on one side, and a 4dr sedan on the Driver's side.

This was Pop's 1957 Ford he WON in a raffle. Bought two tickets for $20.00 and got the call. I can still hear him saying "Hold on a minute, I gotta sit down"...

This here is "pop" around 1982-83.

Pop with my brother around 1977

Pop and my cousin around 1983

Pop around 1967

This was my '82 Z/28. Loved that car.

And last but not least, Remember how my brother "Never was the same"? Well, these are sitting in his yard today.

Those are some high potential gems your brother has now.  I understand why he thinks that way of course but its still too bad he can't bring himself to pour a little love on them.  Nice pics Cooter.

Thanks for the pics.  Hope you can acquire or help get some of your brothers' cars on the road someday.  Still got the Camaro?

Whe3n I talked to him, he was planning, again, with two kids and one with child support, he has limited funds. Claims he "Ai9n't no painter, or bodyman"...Of course, I gave him what for for that one. No reason he CAN'T do it, he just doens't want to, same as everybody else. Claimed he'd never get enough done like with removing a bolt and putting a bolt back. Bodywork is NOT instant gratification like with bolts.

Anyway, he PLANS on Black Charger, with 5 speed and 440. I guess we'll see. I let him drive the GL and he seemed to "Rekindle" a little Gumpption to get started. He says he has the AMD catalog and it looks like $8500.00 in metal. I told him I could get that body done, and in primer for that much, but he's into the "All new" metal thingy.

The '65 Coronet is running with a 413/727 8 3/4 set up. Runs pretty good. He's got a 1968 Coronet 2dr in that little "Garage" that is built into the bank behind the Charger. Been "pouring" love into that thing for whatever reason.. I guess he's like anybody else, he needs to work on something different every once in a while.

Nope. Drove it for about 2 years. Wrecked it one night coming home. Rounded the curve and never straightened up. Sideswiped a tree, causing the rearend to be yanked out of the control arm bushing's and spun me around backwards into a friends Front yard. Never did find my driver's side T-top.
Had to climb out the roof. They towed it home for me hopping and chirping the tires all the way. Hadda right tasty 355 SB in it. Pulled it out and dumped it in my 1969 Chevelle, SS 396, 4-speed car. Swapped the 355 running for a non running 1973 454 out of truck. Dumped 454 in the Chevelle.
Put a Comp .550 Lift, 292 Cam, stock intake with 850 DP Holley, Headers. That was it, rest was Oval Port head stock....

Ran better than the 355 ever thought about. Sold it to get the Mustang.. I sold it to get my Dart engine out of hock.($3500.00 Donh't sound like much, but back in 1996, it was sh*tload).
