Hello, Can anyone tell me the story/history of the copper colored Daytona located in the Chrysler Museum here in Michigan? The VIN# is XX29L9B400564. I have never seen a Daytona with the R/T badge between the Tail Lights (usually a Charger badge). The VIN decodes as a 440 car but the R/T badge is what throws me off. I would think that the museum wouldn't display a "Clone" but then again what do I know! Is this car on Loan or Donated? I have 20 plus pictures from my visit there a few years back. Any information would be great! Thanks!

Back in 2001, at an Aerowarrior Reunion, a bunch of guys walked around that car with a list of what's wrong with it...
70 Charger fenders with scoops located wrong comes to mind...     :shruggy:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

That car looks great to me and the right color who wouldn't love to have it.

I sent this to a buddy of mine who use to own this car, he is not a board member but said he may post on it.  He owned it in the early/mid 80s and has the original 1969 MI title to the car the DMV let him keep when he titled it.

I'm sure the R/T emblem "could" have been on the back since day 1.

"Never say never" with a MoPar.   Hey - good name for the next Bond movie, where he drives a Viper.  :2thumbs:

Ask him if he remembers the original fenders being on the car back then...   :shruggy:

Not completely  shutting down, just won't be open 6 days a week. I am glad I got to see it once. I really did enjoy it.

A nice car. My Buddy works at Museum. I can ask him what happened to it. LEON.

If it is the copper car that Ron Slobe had years ago,I remember watching about 4-5 men working on it at same time.
Ron was trying to get ready for,  show,,sale,, or something. The amount of liquid intellange floating around,it is a
wonder the scoop's where  not on the tail.     Was a long time ago.
