Can you post a photo of your car?  btw... that link is not going to break yours down to the color.

Also.. when I re-read that thread, I wonder if we are talking about the same car he had which you have?  Curious...

hey thanks for the link! I can try to get a picture of the car, but it is currently in primer. The only gunmetal gray left is the door jams and trunk area. I bought the car in primer with some shade-tree work done to it so I know its not the same car you read about. Mine came out of omaha nebraska. It was a factory Non-A/C car as well. I did find out that it is the numbers matching motor and transmission

I remember that Rallye being on the Omaha Craigslist for a while this summer.  Looked like it was in pretty good shape but I never went to look at it.

your right thats the one that was on there...Its going to take some work to get it back to factory but its not as bad as most of the 73-74 4 speeds that Ive seen..which has been only about 3!

As far as I know GA4 was last available in 72. What's your paint code?

Nice car by the way. What a sweet pic of chargers too, looks like my farm. I happen to have a couple 400 4 speed Rallyes. One being a GA4 72.

I agree.  A nice charcoal gray color was offered in 1973-74 but it was darker and less bluish than 1971-72 GA4 Gunmetal.  I know I have a picture of a beautiful 1973 dark gray Charger somehwere...

400sforever

well you are both probably right...I just wasnt sure what to call the gray color..

well there wasnt any console in the car when I got it, and i am currently still hunting for the fender tag. It has the short style pistol grip shifter...Could this car have come from the factory without a console?

Sure.. both of my Rallye's are console-free..  One with a buddy seat.

Here is  another thread you might be interested in.   (A5 - Dark Silver Metallic) might be the color you have?  You'll have to chase down that tag.

2 very nice cars in this thread.

My 73 Rallye 340 4 speed car did not come with a console from the factory, nor a buddy seat and it has the short pistol grip shifter. If it was a factory console car it should have brackets on the tunnel for mounting the console.

Great line up of cars.

For sure. I love a non console 4 speed. I hope you find the tag.

This might help."

the 396 number is mentioned within this thread

http://wichargerguy.proboards.com/index.....64&page=1#59577

I also believe 396 is the correct number for total. I was interested in trying to find out how many of those were equipped with a/c like mine. I stalled at the 396 total produced for the 400 4 speed.

I don't think you'll ever determine the number with a/c, it just wasn't broken down that way.

Thanks for the info guys! My rallye must have been a factory non console car then because it doesnt have any hardware or evidence of mounting brackets for a console. I will have to take some pictures of the original paint in the trunk area and post them on here. That A5 dark silver metallic is looking like it could be the color I have.
