I've got a problem with some homeless people living in RV's on our street.   The law says they can be there from 6pm until 9am. Between 9am and 6pm is 90 minute parking so they either go away until night or move a few feet.   They woke me up this morning at 6am starting their motor home several times and it's loud.   I'm looking for crafty ways "within the law" to remove them permanently.   Thanks

Sorry I can't remember the name of the attorney we used many years ago when we lived in SB.

So your best resource is the referral services of the Santa Barbara Bar Association. http://www.sblaw.org/public/lawyer-referral-service

My takeaway from the SB years: you have already lost. The gypsies of sunshine (species Santa Barbacus Rifrafus, subspecies Free Lunchia Gypsican) have already won. They are a protected group on the Left Coast, especially from Santa Barbara to Santa Monica. They have won, you have lost. I thought you should know this from first hand experience. Sorry Chuck. Good luck.

It's hard to move an RV with six flat tires... :yesnod:

Yes and he wants them to be able to move, not be there permanently.

Guys,
Skip68 and Vegasmike are working on a family property in MY hometown of SB. Its a over 100 year old victorian home, and they are doing full restoration. And yes, both guys currently live in Vegas area. Nowadays, you gotta travel for work. The homeless rv people have been a problem for awhile, and its just not right for them to throw their trash in the yard as well. Just to clarify a few details.

Many years ago my old man had some trailers he rented out in the local trailer park.

One of them was rented to two young chicks who refused to pay their rent,  even though they had plenty of customers at the whore house they had set up in the trailer.

After exhausting all the proper methods of evicting them, the old man crawled under the trailer late at night while the whoring was going on and stuffed a few dead catfish in the ductwork....

Took several days, but pretty soon the whores were gone...

If they throw trash in the yard, take pictures.  Make sure your camera puts the date on there as well.  Bring in your trash cans so they can't use them.  Maybe, you can get them for littering.  The police have do something about that.  Take pics over a couple days and show them to the cops.

If you want to be mean, blast your horn or do burnouts right beside their camper. :D  Loud radio that goes boom boom can be irritating as well. :D  Get the neighbors involved as well.  Only if your friends with them and won't rat you out.  You could ask all your neighbors to park their cars in the street to where they can't park there.  Every 20 to 30 feet or just far enough to where they can't park in between.   Can you make up some fake fire hydrants?  Fake "No Parking" signs. :shruggy:

Have you tried finding another place for them to park?

Just remember, you start messing with them, they'll mess with you :2thumbs:  I'm out of ideas

Here is what I would do. When they are close to your house go stand in your yard and video tape them constantly. They will either move far enough away to avoid being filmed, or they will confront you and you will have a camera in hand. Either way you win.

If they are homeless then their insurance, and tags are probably expired. Can you have the local police check? Nothing worse than a driver that has no insurance.
