No, it's not Rich P. that is offering the car (by the way, he has moved from South Florida to North Carolina).

Unfortunately this car appears to be owned by the Pronmans bothers, Gary & Dan. The eBay seller ID is dansmopar. They were raised in Montreal, but now call South Florida home.

First thing is that their current eBay ad makes no mention of the fact that this car doesn't have its original block.
At least that is what they said when they first tried to dump this thing after restoring is back in mid-2009.

The August 2009 Hemmings ad (page 411 to be precise) stated:
Hemi Charger R/T 1969, very rare black on black, 4-speed NOM,
non-vinyl top car, radio delete, broadcast sheet, just completed,
no expense spared, nut & bolt restoration, serious offers.
Gary, 561-445-0649, FL; email: gpmusclecars@aol.com;
complete resto photos at: www.moviestarmusclecars.com

It didn't sell and they tried again back in mid-2010 by listing it on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $239,000.
The eBay listing was picked up and posted over on moparts, where the forum thread turned into a typical Pronman bashing by multiple contributors not happy with their ethics or restoration work. The topic 6069786 has since been deleted, and it would be safe to assume that the Pronmans threatened to sue the board because their lovely reputation was being aired to the public (again).

Obviously the car didn't sell last year either... so maybe the third time's a charm? Only think that I hope for is that if some unknowing person actually buys this thing from the Pronmans, that they don't send money to Montreal and hope to actually get the car that they paid for. I can tell you first hand that it doesn't work that way when the Pronamns are involved.

By the way, I find it particularly interesting that Dan is able to list a car for sale since he's supposedly dead. At least that is what his brother Gary told a Montreal-based collections company when they called him trying to track Dan down for not skipping out of Canada without paying for his leased Mazda.

Wonder if its an export car ? Years ago Lee Ellison out of Orangeville Ontario had a black 69 R/T hemi. After he passed the car was sold states side I believe. Can't remember if it was 4 speed or not.

Last time we saw Lee Ellison was back in '95 and when we restored our Charger in 2005 that was when we found out that Lee had passed...we were stunned!!  We used to go to him for parts back in the 80's...he was a great guy to deal with always fair....we sure miss him! Sorry I don't remember if his was a 4 speed or not too

Back in the late 1980s, there was a clean, black '69 hemi Charger here in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I know it had no vinyl roof or stripe. That's all I know about it. I would see it drive around sometimes but, I would never see it stopped. Haven't seen it in years. Not saying it's the same car but, how many could there have been?

LOL...I know who you are talking about Dave...go check Parkdale fish & chips some time ;)
Marty and I have known him since the 80's!!
Not sure if he sold it...I posted his link when he first tried to sell it a couple yrs ago...but he told me his son hates the smell of gas and he wanted a Viper and I have seen him in a red Viper last summer so who knows. He also had a red Dart ;)

Just checked and he 1st tried to sell it back in '07...here's the link to the thread I posted back then:

Thanks Cheryl. Looking at that older thread, I now know who he is. I've driven my Charger down Main Street beside him when he had that Dart.  I would mind owning that Dart also. I spoke to him at the Pier 4 show too when he had it there. He sure has great taste in cars.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

Hey folks,

The Pronman brothers just re-listed the car on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251087911914#ht_9082wt_1165

Maybe the fourth time will be the charm?

Buyer Beware.

Very knowledgeable first post bstyles.

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah well, when a couple brothers scam you out of $84,000 hard-earned bucks, you make it a mission to help the hobby by exposing the likes of them!

Just think about how much safer of a hobby it would be without predators like the Pronmans, Dennis Tuttle and Fred Engelhart (to name a few) around.

As a lesson to the rest of us, how did you lose that kind of money to these maggots?

From the description on the e-bay ad it sure sounds like Lee`s old car.He had a ton of NOS parts for his black hemi.

And maybe the fifth time will be a charm?

With the increased repetition of listing this, perhaps they will be more aggressive and let it go for a reasonable price on of these days.

If you were to post the VIN it might help navigate (Google search) any potential buyers to this thread & the opportunity to speak with you.   :shruggy:

Starting to lose count...

Looks like bidding on their sixth attempt (eBay 09/19/2012) only reached $120,600.00 which, once again, didn't meet their high reserve.

Heard through the grapevine that they traded the Charger for a red 70 Hemi Cuda.
Without knowing the cash component of the deal, if any, sounds like the guy that ended up with the Charger did better (and I say that hesitantly given that the Pronmans were the ones that restored the Charger).
Guess it is now time to be on the lookout for that Cuda.
