I'm not surprised the Israelis are building thier own defense system.  Can't depend on the US anymore to back them up.  Best of luck to them At least they are building some cool stuff

They are now working with the US in creating a US version of this system.

Star Wars was the arming of satellites with nuclear weapons or lazers.  This is something different.  It's just missiles designed to take down missiles.  Star Wars was hypothesised to destroy cities.
