Yes, the Sandwich Fair in Center Sandwich NH.

The fair was almost 2 months ago and it wasn't even on the radar for me but thanks to NHCharger for keeping me in mind I made the show at the last minute. The weather was threatening to be total crap all week but after a few botched phone calls we decided to meet up at the fair at 8am. I left at 6:30 and hoped that the car would stay "clean enough" as it had poured all night and I live on a dirt road.  :brickwall:

Anyhow, met up with Brian somewhere in NH and followed him into the main event. The fair has a car show on the first Saturday which runs from 8am to noon with voting for 9 different groups. At noon the voting ends and they give out trophies. So we spend a bit of time wandering through the cars and trucks that arrived and of course voted for our favorite cars. After the trophies are handed out there is an Old Car parade that they run through the fair grounds. Quite the experience indeed.  :yesnod:  After the parade we made the trek home as the rain was on the way. Half my travels home were in a downpour. The Charger did well and didn't leak to badly. Good thing I replaced the wiper blades the week before.  :P  I spent another 10 minutes when I got home rinsing off all the mud from the last 2 miles to the house.  :eek2:

Anyhow, here are a few pics.

Oh, I got 2nd place. Brian got 3rd. If I understand correctly Brian and I were tied in the voting and a "judge" apparently gave me the edge. I personally thought Brian's Charger deserved the 2nd place but what can you do. Never did get my trophy. The event staff goofed up and apparently didn't order the trophies in time so when they announced my 2nd place they said the trophy would be in the mail. Well still no trophy. I was waiting to post until it arrived but no dice... so here we are. Enjoy.

Ok, I know its a chevy...  :icon_smile_blackeye:  However, my mom's first car was a brand new 67 Chevelle Malibu Convert, turquoise with black interior.  I can still remember driving around in that car with my mom and the top down.  :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA:  So that car is special to me.  I am slowly working on her to buy another one. She still has the invoice from when she bought it.  :2thumbs:

What, you didn't get any pics of the Pacer? :shruggy: :poke:
Seriously though it looks like a nice variety of cars, not just all the typical car show fare . Congrats on the trophy...or not. :2thumbs:

Well, I didn't realize how few pics I ended up taking. I got tied up looking at all the cars I guess.

The Pacer was an all original car. And while that was cool it was just as awful as I remembered them.   The guy that owned it apparently picked it up from the original owner and frankly enjoys taking it to shows because it gets such a wide range of reactions.  :2thumbs:

It looks pretty good there but a big front was on it's way in from the west when we were turning in. I got probably 30mi to the west (half way home) and it turned into a down pour.

LOL. I was trying to finish eating my sandwich when you snapped that pic of me and the wife.
Bryan, if you want I can give you my third place trophy  ;)  Next year you'll have to carry the Charger banner. My oldest son is getting married that day and even thou the wedding is not until 4 PM I got the hairy eyeball from the wife when I told her I could still do the show and then drive straight to the church with an hour to spare.

Hopefully, we'll be back for next year. I think we've missed the last 2.  Deb's Valiant ragtop took first a couple years ago with Brian and I taking the other 2 spots.

If you guys finished 2 and 3, who finished first?

No, after checking out the other old cars for an hour or 2 we just walked the fair checking out the tractor pull, various craft and livestock shows, and grabbed something to eat.

Yep, I'm down by the football stadium, but I have another property in the lakes region.

So you must frequent the Bass Pro Shops car show at Gillette then? I am very tempted to spend the 6 hrs on the road next summer to go to that at least once.
