Since there is not a CORRECT heater valve for 74 models due the diff bracket available, I had to buy the only one available as replacement at Advance Auto parts:

But I wasn't satisfied with the idea of cut the original bracket and attach this, or open new holes on inner fender so I decided to go with SWITCH THE BRACKETS:

I KNEW was posible, and it is. Just need to be handy:

WHAT REST FROM THE REST OF PARTS ( newer bracket and older heater valve parts )

HOWEVER there is one part that I simpy FORGOTT WHAT POSITION MUST GO! and is the valve itself inside. It has two "faces" ( showing the old piece but newer is pretty much the same ):

and

I "pre-assemblied" like this in open position ( outlet is the one facing the firewall ).

but if SOMEBODY can confirm this to correct it before make the final assembly ( meaning the final "finish"  :smash: LOL ) will be great.

Need to set the lever aligment with the valve cilinder. Everything is just preassemblied waiting for this

I have a brand new one I installed, same design as yours. I just used 2 screw holes for the inner fender cover to mount mine, I did not cut anything.

I will look when I get home and see if yours is installed right and let you know.

yeap, but I didn't want to open holes on my car. In fact I don't like to open ANY hole on my car beside the correct ones if adding factory options.
