I agree. Aruba has to be my favorite followed by Barbados.

Yep. Great weather. Ocean breeze, food is good. Just stay in the tourist areas if you know what I mean.

The wife and I have avoided it. Many people have told us its nice if you stay at the better resorts but the crime is pretty high if you are out and about on the island.  Its a popular vacation spot, just do your homework before you go.

Fred said not to tell you that's where he's taking you for New Years. :2thumbs:

Just got back from 5 weeks in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.

Could live in any of them but especially New Zealand.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Oh, we sure did. We loved Queenstown. Did the cablecar to the top of Bob's Peak and I was signed up to do the para-gliding off the top when the winds changed and they closed for the day.

That's a shame. Did you get in some white water rafting down the Shotover river? Man, that is fun.

Nope. we did the jetboat on the Dart river and the kayaked down. Guide said, "The water is 7 degrees celcius" (47F) I said, "Will it get any warmer?". He said, "nope. It was an 18,000 year old glacier 12 hours ago. This is as warm as it gets" Then he filled the pitcher and we had it with lunch.

Sounds like you had a fabulous time.  We did the white water water rafting in winter, took a break from skiing the Remarkables. Got there by helicoper. Passed on the jet boat though.........never enough time to do it all.  We were in wet suits and even took a dive into the water at the end of it. The wife is seriously thinking of rafting the Zambeze river, me, I'm not so sure.

I jumped in as well (with a wetsuit).

You're right. not enough time to see it all.

JB400

Fred, are you not up for white water rafting?  I personally have never been.  No place around here.  Have been canoeing a few times, lots of fun.

Fred

Up for the rafting..........it's the 6 countries the river runs through that have me a littled worried.

I understand.  I hear Africa is not exactly the friendliest continent.  Central America is the same way.  Must be denghe fever :shruggy:

Fred

If you get a chance JB you should definitely try it. It's a real thrill. Erika was grinning from ear to ear the whole way (which is something she does on the dodgem cars, especially when she can get away with bumping into everybody). She said that's what it reminded her of..........out of control dodgem cars.

I hope she doesn't practice with the daily :eek2:  We call them bumper cars :2thumbs:  Maybe I'll get to go to Colorado to give it a try.  I wouldn't mind seeing Pikes Peak again.  Last time I was there was when I was 1.
