I removed the front sway and trying to get out the old bushing an trick to this ?? Also what is the Front Sway Bar Diameter and is it a good idea to go with a larger diameter? If it is please let me size.

Thank You for your help

Mike

Most likely 7/8 on the diameter . To change th bushings you must cut the welds , slip on the new bushing, then reweld.

Boy that's a pain in the ass just to change bushing

Thank You

Ghoste

It is but there is no other way that I've found.  I once burned a bushing out with a torch thinking it was smart and easy but I still ended up having to cut the welds to get the new bushings in.

think rubber bushing is  difficult ,  :icon_smile_blackeye:   even worse trying to fit  polly bushings , in a OEM bar   :cussing: :cryin: :smash: , you will end up injuring your self  long befor you get the bushing even a 1/4 of the way in  ,

cut & weld , best way  & quickest  ,  :yesnod:

depends of how you have set up your car  , narrow razor blade  tires , & stiff bars / suspension , not always a good idea   a thick rear bar is not always the answer either  ,   really it depends what other suspension mods you have  done , geometry, torsion bar size ,  shocks , tire width ,   & how your car feels to you when cornering at given speeds ,

I have a 1 1/8" thick bar on the front. I also have a 7/8" rear bar but that one has not been installed yet.

With my 14" rims and 225 tires I can throw it in a corner hard and the front end stays pretty flat.  I've never had the feeling of losing control so in my experience that bar works great.

I did install a spoiler to hide it though.

You know I cant really remember.....it was about 15 years ago that I did them.   Im not sure if I was on a 4 hour or 8 hour piece of overtime that night at work when I did them...rarely did 8's so it must have been 4 hours ;)

I think I know her maybe the same girl. LOL

HeavyFuel

I drilled holes in to the rubber, then went after it with a vise-grip.  Worked pretty good, and didn't heat up the bar.

One of my orginal brackets was beat up, and to get a replacement was becoming a PITA.....besides the hassle of putting in the new rubber......so I went the Energy Suspension route.    Part # 5.5135 for stock 15/16 inch anti-sway bar.

Poly bushings, greasable.  I painted the gold brackets black, and went with some grade 5 natural finish bolts/nuts.

It's about the only thing that is not correct factory looking when you view the car.....I'll get over it.
