She took a deposit on this car the other day when the auction was at just $810 (selling price of $1800). I called her and she told me that I could have the car today for the same price if the guy did not have the rest of the money by noon today. Well he picked it up early this morning she told me when I called. She was at work & has no idea that the auction is now at $2450.00. She told me that her family has owned a few on these car. But I not think she knows what she is talking about as she just sold a 1 of 460 built Rallye Coupe for $1800.!!!!!!!

Wait till the guy that she sold to for 1800 re-lists it and sells for 5k ... then she will shoot herself!

i couldn't help it.. i'm high bidder!!! lol. i love that. get them to end auction early and by the time they do they wish they hadn't.. she should have just added that buy it now to save the heartache if she only wanted 1800. wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes.. we should get it up well over $5k

On cars it's a flat fee of $40 to list & $40 more when you sell

KMPX2

Would have loved to have seen her face. $7500 was still a good price for that rare of a car. I would like to know if she is trying to buy it back.

Telvis

Man, that's only about an hour away from me.  ::)

Ghoste

She may not even care.  That could be the case when all the boomers start dying off too.  The kids may or very easily may NOT give a hairy rats ass what dad paid for the car.  Unload it and get on with life.

Then again, she kind of gave this one away huh?

694spdRT

Just curious what do you guys honestly think that car is worth? I agree $1,800 is a good deal, however, $7,500 is a little optimistic in my book. Granted it is rare but, is it desireable with a 318, bench seat, and column automatic.  :shruggy:

694spdRT you do know that it was a 1 of 460 built Coupe not a  hardtop that they made 3,413 of.

Ghoste She had just bought this car 4 months ago to restore but had no place to keep it & the city was getting on her case about it.

PocketThunder

I sent her the question in ebay that asked:  Is it true that this car is already sold for $1800?  and she replied:  this car is sold to the highest bidder when the auction ends, i couldnt figure out how to end the darn auction.

I understand the rarity of the car. All I am saying is how much is a rare "318" Rallye coupe worth that needs restoration. I met a guy last year with one of the 28 '72 440 Rallye coupe's and Wayne Wooten told him how rare it was and mentioned just because it is rare doesn't necessarily make it worth ton's of money. Also, there was a '73 340 4 speed Ralley on Ebay a couple weeks back that they made a little less than 400 of and I think it brought around $6,000. I just wondered what you other people's thoughts were on the value. I was thinking 3-4K in that condition.

not in my book. I think 1800 is a good price but the $6000 that charger hound is on the hook for is insain...... have fun with that one man!!  ;D

Ghoste

That's unfortunate that the city was hounding almost immediately then.  If she had planned to restore the car, she must have some ideas about the value in her own mind.

greenpigs

If she did sell for $1800 I would guess the car didn't even cost her $1500.
