just watched tonight's show.  HOLY CRAP, I am SICK of seeing and hearing darren.  sick of it.  if it continues like tonight, the show will be deleted from the dvr schedule.

i found myself watching like TNT coverage of a nascar race.  muted and in fast foward :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode:

Just when I thought there might be some hope for the show, we get treated with that stupid "will you let me drive your Jeep" & "popcorn" nonsense.

Wish Holly would have drop kicked him, there is something seriously wrong with that guy.

I agree. Its obviously some bad writing and directing. I love Mopars so Im sticking with it. I pretty much pay attention when they are talking about the cars. Rest of the time Im on my laptop.

yeah, that is where i have been for a while now, but now i just cant stand it anymore, muted and fast fowarded through the daren crap.  it is not helping them at all, why dont they understand it is really about looking at these cool cars they are working on. :brickwall:

Because Mark wants a 'entertainment show' that just happens to have Mopars as a backdrop.

Yes, the cars are secondary.

Mark insulting everyone and and Darren being a meddling ass are the backbone of the show.

It's blatantly obvious that Mark Worman is a big fan of Ricky Gervais in the British version of The Office.   His facial expressions, playing the 'idiot boss', the looks into the camera and the corny side interviews.  The biggest problem?  He is not Ricky Gervais and the show is not funny.  It all comes down to poor execution and no one likes a rip-off artist.

For example, the latest episode with 'the popcorn':

-The opening scene they try to setup the 'big joke' for the final scene of the show but it's blatantly obvious-- Darren offering mysterious popcorn to Holly but refusing to tell her the simple answer as to where it came from?   ::)

-At every scene throughout the show Darren is seen eating popcorn, offering popcorn, fighting over popcorn and not working because he's eating...popcorn! Others ask him where it's coming from (they can't just SMELL IT?!?!?) and he doesn't tell them.   :brickwall:  OK, stop beating us over the head with it. We get it, we ALL get it. Popcorn...

-Mark spends a minimum of 5 minutes throughout the show whining and complaining about Darren eating popcorn, has side interviews about it, etc.  Where did he get the popcorn? Golly Gee I wonder...   :rotz:

-Then the big finale:  This "super Mopar genius" that can remember "every single build code and factory assembly marking and procedure" can't ****ing put 2 and 2 together when his Overstock.com (another irritating issue with the show, the blatant, constant advertising like the audience doesn't notice) order is missing... A POPCORN MAKER!   :RantExplode:  To top off the idiocy, Darren is sitting directly in front of him the entire time he's supposedly telling off the Overstock.com employee on the phone while dramatically over-eating the POPCORN.  Conveniently Mark asks what name signed for it? Mark Woman? hardy freaking har.   And right at the perfect comedic moment we're supposed to believe he just now notices Darren and says "Mother F-" and it cuts?

I enjoy shows where as an audience member I don't feel like they expect me to be a complete moron and not notice the terrible attempts at scripted humor.  Ricky Gervais is a King at such work-- Mark Worman? Stick to what you know, stick to the cars.  And maybe stop trying to stick it to Holly.  We all know that it will be your next phase in ripping off The Office...faking a romance with the girl from the office.  :smilielol:

It's a shame that only 1 of them is actually a real girl.  And she happens to be the one that can only attach stickers and work on Velcro-related projects while the other 2 tear apart engines (during commercial breaks with a full crew while the cameras are off).   :icon_smile_big:
