Well, I'm thinking about the unthinkable right now, I've talked to a few people and figured I would post here. After the divorce, i've been doing my best to make ends meet. But it looks like I will have to let the charger go. i have a number in my head, but I have to make sure it will be worth it in the end. I'll miss her, but I think I need to sell the DMCL Charger. So what do you think?

I could go on and on, but before I put it on e-bay and local sale I want to make sure i'm realistic in my asking prices. I'm not going to say the number in my head, i want to see what everyone thinks...

sorry that you have to sell it,,I love that car.

30k would be reasonable, and I would be interested at that price. if you roll the dice and get a real buyer on ebay it could go for as high as 40-45k, but that is rarer and rarer every day for a homebuilt not numbers match car.

I agree that 30k would be a good starting price... and if I could get closer to 40k, then I think it would make it easier on me. Need to take care of some bills and stuff. Though she's not home built, most of the work was done in a body shop except for the beginning teardown. She still needs a few odds and ends... I'm going to stay realistic. As they say, money talks hehehe

yeah I think max 2x/week though my buddy did it for awhile he got about 300 dollars/month for 2 months straight.  Very tiring.....

If you're serious about selling, PM me. My neighbor has been looking for a Charger for years and has been trying to buy mine. Honestly, I don't know if he's wants a 3rd gen or any nice Charger, but I'd be happy to go ring his doorbell and see if he'd be interested.

30k to the right buyer   :shruggy:

:iagree: x3

The "right buyer" is key. The movie car clone thing knocks you out of the mainstream market. Most people just don't get it, and won't pay extra for it. In terms of mainstream market value, it's a (non-R/T), non-numbers matching charger with a high quality restoration, but a weird paint job in a non-original color. $30K might be a stretch.

On the other hand, to a deep pocketed DMCL fan, at $30 it's a bargain compared to building your own.

Probably going to come down to whether or not you can afford to wait for the "right buyer".

Sad to hear you're going to sell.  One thing to consider is the taxes.  Unless you have an IRA to stash the money in, you might consider waiting until after the first of the year to sell.  I don't know what you pay in taxes on it now, but something to think about.  Besides, something might happen in the next couple months that will allow you to keep it.  Never know. :Twocents:

I understand what you're saying, I can wait for the right buyer if need me, it's not costing me extra to have it.

My first thought was around the $30k ballpark.  I think I'd ask $37,000 and go from there.    :2thumbs:

I agree with 471. Nice car but non R/T, non NOS matching, non standard paint. DCML is not as well known as GL or other movie TV cars. It's a custom and customs are built to personal taste...not for resale. Price it as any other XP with an engine swap.
