Being it was my idea to paint the car like that, you should just give it to me. I'll take care of it :yesnod: :D

Shame to hear...as for a price I think 30K would be a reasonable amount...for a tribute car. :shruggy:

...not for resale. Price it as any other XP with an engine swap.

Not gonna happen, for all the shows i've been too, this car is more well known then you would think.

NOO! Don't do it! :'(

Don't give your X-wife the satisfaction of knowing she was the cause of you having to sell your charger. Sell everything else instead! If you need a place to sleep then sleep in your car. Burn rubber in front of her house and laugh in her face when she screams at you through the window :nana:.

If you need extra money, get a taxi liscene and charge people for rides in your charger.

Make video's and post them on youtube. If you get enough hits they pay you. You could me a prequal to DMCL showing Larry buying the charger.

There has got to be other options. Just my opinion.

Sad to hear you're going to sell.  One thing to consider is the taxes.  Unless you have an IRA to stash the money in, you might consider waiting until after the first of the year to sell.  I don't know what you pay in taxes on it now, but something to think about.  Besides, something might happen in the next couple months that will allow you to keep it.  Never know. :Twocents:
accordding to my cpa, if you are doing this as a hobby (not deducting expenses for buying, repairing, maintaining or restoring),  any procedes from the sale are not taxable.

$30k sounds  about right,I'm building a dmcl clone and have always liked your car!

1974dodgecharger

thats true, but your looking at a car thats been done up and down and cleaned up. IM going to assume NOT RUST and for 30k, no rust, great runner, engine rebuilt, etc..its well worth it.

A true matching would fetch 50k plus in his condition with restore of course, but like you said non matching etc..its 30k with a full restore he did.

QuoteThe "right buyer" is key. The movie car clone thing knocks you out of the mainstream market. Most people just don't get it, and won't pay extra for it. In terms of mainstream market value, it's a (non-R/T), non-numbers matching charger with a high quality restoration, but a weird paint job in a non-original color. $30K might be a stretch.

I agree with 471. Nice car but non R/T, non NOS matching, non standard paint. DCML is not as well known as GL or other movie TV cars. It's a custom and customs are built to personal taste...not for resale. Price it as any other XP with an engine swap.

lol, rock chips have been repaired :-P

We're setting up a photo shoot this week and getting her ready for sale. I'm not saying she's mint, I drive my car :-) but we'll see what she fetches. It's not about the ex being satisfied, she has offered to help so I didn't have to do this. but I can't let her do that. I've done everything else I can. It looks like this is going to happen. If It doesn't sell for what I need, then it wont sell and she'll get a stay of execution.

Thanks for the help though guys. If she does sell I think i'll miss this forum as much as the car.

Just because you sell the car, doesn't mean you have to log off.

Sell your everyday driver, then use the Charger for that instead. At least you'll still keep it, and it's easier to replace a newer car :Twocents:

Khyron, Don't worry, Once you get a good ol fashioned dose of the "Meh, economy is bad, you need to gimme that car you put all that work and time into. I know it looks a million bucks, and I want it for peanuts because I'm a broke ass teenager dreaming, and in college. I have no money/funds", you'll most likely end up keeping it. :2thumbs:
