i am looking at a 69 coronet, and i have a few parts left over from the charger to make a bee clone , dash, console, buckets and floor shift auto links, and it comes with some bee stuff
i am asking why hasn't the coronet gotten as much following/mention like the charger,(i know why on the charger)  but or even the roadrunner, ya just dont hear/see as much on the coronet??

tuff looking car i reckon

I know I will get some hate on this, but overall the same gen cars year wise (68-70) are all the same cars with different fronts and some mods to rear.  The media placed so much emphasis on the 68 to 70 chargers thats why they are so popular, but a true mopar head will love each car based on its lines thats why I think the 68 is the baddest out of them due to front grill and rear tail lights other than that all the same to me plymought sattelite, roud runner, coronet, etc..during the 68 to 70 era.

Had this 68 before the Charger and a few of my friends prefer this over the Charger. There is something about the body lines on the rear quarters that make it stand out.
.
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

This was my RT I sold to get moving on the Bird Clone.  I had the Q5 69 Bee before that.  I still got emblems etc from them and some body parts to move out later but it seemed to get more attn. at some shows because there weren't many out especially compared to the amount of other B-Bodies.  There are other forums http://www.dodgecoronet.com/forum/index.php  with just as much as following if you need some info. on building yours.

I actually think '68-9 coronets had cleaner lines then comparable plymouths. I like the dodge 1/4 better, I think it goes better with the angled roofline and backwindow of the b body. Plymouths looked swoopier . Actually I think the coronets looked alot better all in all, the grills are mean and sunk in at the corners, and the taillights are cooler (more so on the 68 coronet). 68-9 Plymouths remind me of a taxi cab fron end and the tailights arent super special either. That being said, Of course nothing can beat  a '70 roadrunner.

Love 69 Bee's. I prefer the Bee over the Coronet slightly.....like the Bee tail lights better than the triples on the Coronet.....strictly a personal taste thing.

But - I love all them there Mopars.....

I have a 69 Bee.  Not sure why Coronets do not get much love.  I have seen several decent 69 Coronet 500's for $6000.00 or less. I love the three tail light rear panel.

I have always preferred the look of the Super Bee to the Road Runner but I don't know that I'd clone one.  Just me though.

I also prefer the looks of the bee over the roadrunner, just a little more streamlined looking.  I can still remember when i was car shopping for my first car, I had a choice of a 69 superbee, with a new 440, 4spd...but the 440 was out of the car at the time still, and had a tunnel ram and dual 4bbl carbs on it,  all for $400.00 (blue).  Then i had a friend selling a 66 gto clone that was a bit rough around the edges but had a 400 single quad and a 4spd for 600, and then i found the 69 charger r/t se for 1000 obo that i ended up getting for 800.

There was an article about the 69 superbee six pack in car and driver magazine that i read over and over in those days (in the context of a moonshiner type car) and used to draw superbee's on the school desks (the car not the emblem) until i bought a charger, then things pretty much went all charger for me.  I was pretty disgusted when the DOH came out later that year and they kept bashing up the pretty car.  Too bad the acting wasn't a little better, i may have been more supportive, i did like the dixie horn and daisy wearing shorts though.
