By the time anybody restores the car after purchase, they won't get their money back.  I'd buy it, and leave it as a survivor.  I'm a dollar or two short though.

I like it sounds like a fair buy.

yeah if you look at the rarity its super rare (only high volume dealers got it), but in my eyes its just another 70 charger (since I dont care about matching numbers, rarity, etc..) out of my league for sure.

Neat car, but the pac rac just kills it stone dead for me , how ever did that get offered as an option on a Hemi powered car
Old Dog, Old Tricks.

hawkeye

did the front bumperettes only come on the se's, or were they on option?   as large as these cars are the extra chrome looks good.    thanks

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Black on black HEMI, it's worth the asking price. :2thumbs:

That's an odd angle to take pictures of the carbs (from the rear). Makes me wonder how bad the front of the engine & engine compartment looks. Regaqrdless, if it's matching numbers & all origina & in decent shapel, I'd say that 65 large is about right.

Rolling_Thunder

If it was a 4-speed I'd think about it...    but if I was going to drop huge coin It wouldnt be on an auto...
It is listed 15mins from LAX in the beach cities...    it must be around 10 minutes from my house...

if anyone is serious let me know and I'll inspect it for ya'll

Not a survivor.

The motor is hurt. Pushrods bent. And heads are currently off it. Couldn't verify vin numbers on block.

Not mentioned in the ad is that when it was hit a yellow: frame, inner fender and radiator support were spliced into the car. So radiator support numbers are missing.

I saw an AAMCO receipt from 1972 that the original trans was grenaded and it was listed as "non rebuildable core" so no numbers trans.

Car has potentional though.

Nope. Not from the ad.

Here's the yellow top radiator support, inner fender, passenger frame rail, fender. When I looked at it close the work was done real nice from a donor car. The lost radiator support numbers were the bummer...

DadsCharger00

ya know...they are shopping this car hard. It was also under craigslist here where I live as well....scam? :scratchchin:

Dodge Don

$65k for a car needed a full restoration is too high (by a long shot).

Now here is where I get annoyed. It would appear he has contacted Galen Govier and his "Chrysler Registry".....last I checked he only had around a few hundred 70 Chargers registered whereas the 70 Charger Registry has 2800+ registered. There is no data that definitively says there were 9 Hemi R/T SE cars built in 70. Chrysler sales records do not specifically break out SE cars by other options. We know there were 112 70 Hemi Chargers built and we know that 15.5% of all 70 R/T cars came with the SE option. Until we get every single car registered there is no way to make definitive statements like that. He notes only 4 verifiable remaining.....well then how do you explain that we already have 8 Hemi R/T SE cars registered...all verified.

Just because Galen only has 4 registered does not mean that only 4 are left in the world
