Good deal or not-72 New Yorker 440

Guy has a 72 New Yorker w a 440,wants 900.00 for it and the engine has 82000 mi on it and doesnt smoke and runs strong,cars actually in very good shape,although a 4 door I thinking maybe recoup some money w the parts before crushing it?? any chance theres people out there restoring or needing good parts for these land yachts? All im wanting is the engine/trans and the brackets-is this a good deal for 900.00?

might be a bit high but you know it runs well & yeah you may be able to sell a few parts but there is not much demand for the New Yorkers & you get the trans too which is getting harder to locate

It'll be a low compression motor but will probably have a forged crank.

I think its a great deal myself. I paid more than that for my 70 imperial. There's something to be said about running and drivable.

they don't repop much, if anything so those guys doing c bodies will scarf up as much of the car as they can, just may take a little while to get rid of it, bet you get all your money back with a little work

Old man owned it from new,the bumpers,all light lenses,trim,interior is in perfect shape,all 4 hubcaps are like brand new,I allmost hate chopping it up but I want that engine/Trans for my 66...

I'd take it in a heartbeat, trade the 383 in my car for that 440, and drive the crap out of it before selling for another 900

Only thing is its a 4 door,if it was s coup there wouldn't be any question,I've seen some nice 2 doors on you tube...

 You could always buy it, swap out the engine and transmission with your charger, then sell the New Yorker.

Again, the days of finding these cars for $250.00 running or not are gone. Light shines on a dog's ass every now and then, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

$900.00 is a deal because I've seen a 440/727/8 3/4 rear go for that much. The fact that you have a BUNCH of parts to sell off is icing on the cake.
