As it reads above. Now I just gotta find a 67 fastback Mustang

JB400

Best of luck.  I believe that car ranks right up there with finding and restoring a 69 Charger.  Hard to find, but well worth it in the end.  :2thumbs:

G-man

Thanks

Especially when I want a GT390. I decided I wanted a smaller car, but not an exotic as I still like muscle. The mustang seemed to fit that bill (so did the Camaro, but... the mustang looks like more thought went into its design)

Fred

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Great news George that is a nice car, hope you got a good price for it. :2thumbs:

You never get bored with it. Maybe just have an urge to try something different, and can't afford both.

HPP

But unlike Chargers, you can buy brand new '69 Camaros and '67 Mustangs.

I know if I ever met Gman in real life I would appreciate him for what he has gone through in life, his determinations, just his whole philosphy about life in general. If you want something bad enough you work for it and thats what he did and now he is moving on to do other things in life and with no excuses pushes through.

and I like everyone elses post in that thread also such as Tilar

Woah how did I miss that circus of a thread!?!

Free R/T to work on with my kids...buy a fucking box of lego's, what the hell do the kids care what they're working on.  It's about sharing time with family and bonding, not restoring a damn car.

Oh well...

G-Man you sure have good taste in cars buddy, I sure love them 67 fastbacks.   :yesnod:

G-man

Thanks.

A lot of money wasted, lost, headaches, people I wanted to kill (so to speak) over things, just need a new start with some fresh air and to me that meant different car manufacturer all together to not be reminded of all the BS. I also wanted something more racy, small like without going exotic as exotics have 0 space for anything I need. I always liked the fast back Idea since I was 18, so decided the hell with it, its small, its got space in it that I need, its a fastback, its nice and light, perhaps thats the 1. If that isnt, then i give up on all cars and will just admire others with them.

The only cars I do like looks of are

67 Fastback mustang GT Shelby 500,
67 Eleanor Mustang
68 Dodge Charger
70 Chevy Chevelle

If I did not care for any 'handling' and stuff,

1949 Mercury Lead Sled, chop top, flames down the sides, wheel arch on rear covered so all you see is the white side wall at the bottom. Now that is a NICE car.

Open the catalog and get out your credit card?

Dino

At least you have a chance of having some money left over for food.

Ghoste

Overall for sure, but if you are going to do a Shelby GT 500 or an Eleanor clone you might find the food to be cans of tuna or boxes of macaroni and cheese.

No doubt although the Eleanor kit should be affordable by now, I think that bubble burst years ago.  A real GT is a whole 'nother story.

Did they ever make 67 fastbacks that were plain cars, kinda like our 318 Chargers?  I'm not interested in pedigree but it would be a fun car to own if it wasn't all that rare and I could drive it around as I do the Charger.

You forgot the Ramen noodles.   What are the plans for a Mustang build anyway?  Is it going to be a Shelby clone or a factory resto, or a restomod?  Eleanor is alright, but then that sort of puts you in GL crowd.  I've seen one, they are nice.

Ghoste

Ramen noodles are what you eat after doing a Mopar.

I thought you file for food stamps after doing a Mopar.  Or is that so you can afford the gas for one?

G-man

  at thread.

To my understanding, people with 67 Fastbacks (Sports Top) do not call them plain even though to me the plain ones are 289/302ci Versions while the special (RT so to speak) cars are the GT390 S code, GT350 and GT500 in the 67 years. Mustang people say the 67 Coupe is your plain mustang and soon you got the fastback it is already highly desirable and valuable whether it be a GT500 or a 289ci. :shruggy:

Some how I do not think Eleanor is exactly same as General Lee. The car was not just sprayed but made functional and the front end was just made really tough looking from the standard. Also the stigma that  goes with it is completely different as the movie was totally different

For now Im going to settle for a 67 Fastback in Black and put the rest of $ towards our (wife and I) education soon to come. After that, I would ultimately like an Eleanor. Only thing to me is though... I don't want an Eleanor per-say. I want the body Kit and the nice grey with black stripes. I want my own wheels though, my own interior etc. So only part Eleanor really is the front end which looks a lot tougher than the standard front end. Rear end is a GT shelby 500 on the E anyway.

Honestly though, just a raven black 67 fastback would be good enough. Spend a little on engine to make some extra power and be happy with it.

I needed space for my musical instruments (Trumpet) and some luggage (hence exotic car was bad idea). Now that I have taken up classical singing, the only space taken is the front seat since that instrument is internal. Good space saver and a lot easier to carry  .

Either way appreciate all the time and help I have received through here  :icon_smile_big:
