clear/white a/c push buttons repopped/cleaned??

i put this here to try to get more exposure.  maybe someone that has done an older el car from the 50-60's might of had this in them also.
the 66 charger (maybe 67 too)  a/c control was the standard 5 button push deal but the EL came from the back of the panel up through the length of the buttons and showed through the front of the buttons

i don't have a pic now but can get one if needed

gibber sent me to www.premiumdashdecals.com but they seem to only have the solid black push buttons.

anyone ever find a way to clean/shineup these type of buttons, i assume they are plastic but have heard that different types of plastic can be damaged by modern cleaners so i sure don't want to do that
