He actually states in the ad "virtually no rust on car".  I can't believe he's put that in there right beside those photos.

1974dodgecharger

people will aks whatever they want, but in the end it just wont sell im 99.9% sure it wont sell.  YOu will always have a .01% person who thinks the same as the seller.  ;)

ODZKing

Wow!  I can't believe he is asking that.  It takes all kinds.   :smilielol:

mopar_man

he made a mistake in the numbers, should be 12k in pennies .

hatersaurusrex

Where's this motor with the awesome 'six pack rods'?
[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69
(ŌŌ)[ƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗ](ŌŌ) = 70

TheGhost

No pictures of the frame, or this supposedly rebuilt engine?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Its like the guy selling his house, based on 2008 prices.
Maybe he wants sell high buy low in this market!
He should have put the engine & tranny and made it run, he would have better chance at getting a decent offer.

He does have alot in parts as well, if he ever parted it out. 71 rt's are hard to come by with low production numbers.

41husk

You guys misunderstood.  12k for the car and the rust is free :nana:
1969 Dodge Charger 500 440/727
1970 Challenger convertible 340/727
1970 Plymouth Duster FM3
1974 Dodge Dart /6/904
1983 Plymouth Scamp GT 2.2 Auto
1950 Dodge Pilot house pick up

Iron Chef

Most of your life should be "off the record."

charger_fan_4ever

Maybe if it was a 6 pack or hemi car(and if I liked 3rd gens) lol

JB400

Hood emblem says Magnum.  It took some computer work to read it.

Ghoste

Well he does say in the ad its a U code.  Of course he says its virtually rust free too.

74Rallye

It's not rust once you spray primer over it! :smilielol:

Not as much as a real one

Isn't there at least one confirmed?  Or am I thinking of the Roadrunner?

Ghoste

There are I believe a couple of Chargers confirmed.

1974dodgecharger

personally I dont see it ever selling...but hey what do I know.

Ghoste

Rare beyond belief, immaculate condition I think it would sell for some very large coin.  I don't know that e-bay is the place for that to happen but there are still buyers willing to pay for exclusive cars.

Chryco Psycho

Personally I prefer the 71 over any other year But From my experience there is no point in building or buying a 71 Charger ..... after spending 50 k to restore mine the best real offer I have had is 7 k , which less than 1/2 the cost of the paint not including buying the body or all the mechanical work . I should have built a Pacer instead !

To me, it's a timing thing, I built my '71 in the late 80's back when you could still get good parts from the junk yard, so my cost wern't as crazy as some figures I've seen, I think I could actually make some dough if I wanted to sell it.

Chryco Psycho

Mine had a rust free body so it was an easy resto , paint work is just expensive when a gallon of base is $1500

Paint is one thing you get what you pay for.  Anything else is you pay for what you get.
In other words, cheap paint ain't going to last as long as a more expensive paint.  Yes, there are a very few exceptions.  Part of it is how it is taken care of.
