Nacho, get one of these and get control of your air/fuel mixture. I have one and I use it on my cars and motorcycles, works great (I will also use it to check my wood burner...it's programmable for all sorts of fuel...even wood fire...)

I've never seen that before, but I think it cannot be compared with the Innovate and similar products.
With the Innovate you can run your car and see exactly what mixture you have when you get the pinging. And you can log everything to your laptop and later evaluate your run while sipping a Margharita in you favorite chair...

I used yesterday, and the explosion color turned to be kinda blue to white, so definitvelly looks to be lean ?.  I didn't made a full test just a quick one.

however the fumes on my car really smells spicy and hurt my eyes, and tips got black with the fumes ( and not just because burnt, they got black dust )

How a lean mixture can get this smell and black dust on exhaust ?

I simply don't understand

It's just lean in the wrong area of the fuel curve, "probably not" the whole fuel curve, or you wouldn't have a bunch of sout smell at idle then pinging under a load, probably mostly in the idle circut, to part throttle, that would explain allot...  :Twocents: Good luck

I have being getting succes ( or it looks like )

Yesterday was making my usual road trip from my GF city up to mine and APPARENTLY just got pinging on same moments but with AC. As soon I turn off the Compressor, pinging was going out.

Couldn't make a good test because was under a big storm ( I allmost couldn't see the road, was at night  ) and of course I had to keep the speed down.

one thing is true, the mileage is going bad now :(.

My actuall setup is:

primaries jets, .98

rods, 2005

secondary jets, .143

floats, 29/32"

rear air vent... rebuilt sheet says set the spring 1.25 turn. I made I think around 1/3" turn more. Also moved the stop to open less than what rebuilt sheet says.

Thinking on give more gas with bigger rear jets ( if I find the strip kit ), or maybe modify some extras I have. Dunno if fronts too. Fronts at least are available being sold separatelly up to .105. If I make that move maybe will get lowered the floats up to 1"
