Hi.  I have a 69 383 and the question I have is it external or internally balanced?  Thanks.

it should be internally if 4 bbls. I think by that year some 383 2 bbls got externally ( cast crank ), but the rest were forged so then internally balanced

ok... check the dampener and compare:

( Note, I'm not the expert, is just that I have read some 2 bbls could got cast crank before 72, not sure if in 69 )

Only the '70 and '71 383-2 were externally balanced...all 69's were internal.
