Over a million people bought a 65 Impala?  Wow, that sure is a lot of people with no taste. :icon_smile_wink:

The main difference between a Chevy Impala and a 68 Charger is that the Impala looks like a big pile of steaming dog puke.

Interesting statement.  :rotz:

Yea, I hear Corollas, Beetles and Escorts have sold well too. :shruggy: Which of those looks better than a 68 Charger?

Okay, let me just say this..............Beauty is  in the eyes of the beholder.

More likely beauty is not the main issue to most people when it comes to a car purchases.

you said the 67-68 GTO's possibly inspiring the 68-70 recessed rear window. but the 67 and 68 gto's are two tottally different body styles.
the impalla is a slow fat piece of shit and the 68 charger is a muscle car.
and who cares about camaros. their everywhere. what is a camaro, the name. we know what a cuda is. a bad f'n fish. i seen them

I used to think the same way about HUGE cars. until there was (And I mean litterally a Little older lady), driving a Bone stock 427 Z11? Biscane, With aluminum heads and 4 speed through town. A friend made a comment about it, and I figured it was nothing but talk. Well, she offered to "Take me for a ride"...

I came away with ALOT more respect for women drivers and their huge rides after that one.

I agree with you Stu.  I seen it in Hot Rod about 6 months ago  I think.  I think they definitely butchered a good Mopar.  Have you seen the Talledega that Troy Trepanier is building.  It looks similar to that car as well.

It was at the Nats in front of INDY cyl. heads.    It's ... um.  um...    more than sane person would spend on a custom job.

I'd be buying a Veyron if I had that kinda cheese to throw at a car.

Personally I'd never by a car I didn't like the look of. It took us nearly 20 years to by a new daily driver for the mrs. because there was nothing out there she liked to replace it with. (I'm talking Australia here) The first best thing to come along was the Chrysler 300.

The Best of Show 69 Charger on the tagline near the bottom of the cover sounds like a story that will prove a great deal more interesting and attractive.

I've purchased a few cars I thought were plain, or just plain ugly, and it was done because I needed basic transportation and I needed it quick. But when I'm not in dire need and something cheap falls in my lap, aesthetics is a major concern. And there's never been a doubt in my mind that a cheap, ugly car was anything but temporary.

That was the red Charger from Texas that was at Carlisle this year.   Very nice car.   $$$$$$ resto.

Hmm, without even seeing it yet I'm thinking the big bucks spent on the Charger were more wisely invested than the money they lost destroying that Road Runner.

We tend to hang onto ours (as the Bronco will attest) so we need to get it right.

Cut the roof off of it and make it a speedster and change the decklid.  Rest of it, I could probably live with.  I do like the grill.
