Alternator

I have a 69 Charger with a 440/727 from a 1971 Chrysler 300.  When I bought the car the alternator was not installed.  Can anyone help me with connecting the wires?  A diagram would help.

If you intend to use the '69 mechanical regulator, just ground one field wire on the '71 alternator (either one)

the posted diagram is originally a mech reg diagram modified to elc regulator system

which alt and reg you have and will post the diagram for you

i JUST got finished doing an upgrade on my 68 Charger 440. 

You said the alternator was not installed? But it did come with the engine If so , it should have 2 FLD. connections on the back . (1971) If you want to use that you have to ground one of the FLD conections in order to keep the stock wires that should be on 69 .OR upgrade your Regulator to a new Electronic version and do the SIMPLE wire conversion as posted.

I would strongly suggest the second option .
