Charger lightning would strike me dead for heresy like that.
Agreed, Charger Lightening delivered with a Thunderclap of doom by The Gods of Speed.. Makes me happy hearing your 8mpg stories, I've never seen a pic of your car Ghoste, could you oblige? I had a good cruise on Sunday over to the other side of town to check out a mates recently imported R4 4sp Daytona , very nice.         I've got a Family long weekend away to the bach in 9 days and looking forward to the first big Family away trip 2hrs each way

Come to think of it, I don't believe I have, either.  Post up some pics!
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

The wife and I did the same thing today.  Cruised over the hill into Idaho and filled up with ethanol free premium.  Did about a 150 mile loop up to Sandpoint then back around to north Spokane.  Never even turned on the stereo.  Just enjoyed the fall colors, the sound of the 440 and all the thumbs ups and smiles.......

Just put ethanol free premium in my daily ......I have a grudge against the whole ethanol thing......$4.35 a gallon...cost me $75 even to fill up. :rotz:

Hey 8 ain't that bad, I'm happy to get 6 when I put my foot in it.   :icon_smile_big:

I'd love to get 6 mpg but I can't. Not with the wife sitting next to me  she insists on coming along to navigate.........supervise!

Yesterday, I stuck 50 bucks worth of high octane in my 8mpg Charger and then drove around aimlessly until it was all gone.  That's right, I wasted every drop of that resource and the worst part is, I don't feel the least bit guilty about it.  In fact, I feel pretty good.

I get high on that feeling.  I do it at least 2 or 3 times a week. Nothing can beat it.   :2thumbs:

Never fails...I ALWAYS have some jealous idiot at the shop, or car cruise that just has to bring up MPG when they are referring to my junk. WTF? You don't drive these for MPG....Sure, if you can get a few more why not, but it's not paramount.

I have a typical reply to these type comments.

"I do not have a Fuel Gauge in this car, I have a Fun gauge. It just costs me around $4.00/gal for more fun".

Well put. :2thumbs:.

Fall is my favorite time for crusin in the charger, the 440 just loves the cool air.  :2thumbs:

When people ask how I can handle wasting so much gas with a musclecar, I just put it like this:

"The mileage is only bad for a car.  It's no worse than you get with a lot of fullsize pickups.  Nobody is amazed when they see a fullsize truck on the road burning up gas.  And lots of those people drive the truck every day, not just occasionally."

Yeah it sounds cheap when you convert it to the fun I had.

Not too many things you can do for fun under $50.  At least not outside of the house.  If your going to spend money, spend it enjoying the car. :2thumbs:

Do you get asked that?  I've never been asked anything like that. Mostly people just admire and take pics or else they keep their thoughts to themselves.
I'm not quite sure how I'd respond if someone said that to me.

In North America you get asked stupid questions like that more often than you would think.  It isn't like a daily occurence but it isn't unusual by any means either.

I never get questioned on gas mileage, or how I can live with myself killing the environment by driving this behemoth.
Usually, some people have asked, "How much money you have in that thing?" To which I reply, "Why, are you keeping a tab?"   :nana:  :D

He's right.  People here in the US do ask the stupidist of questions.  My reply, " Know nothing"

There isn't anything to say, we're used to it I guess.

I suppose it is best to drive in our old cars and let that drive take you back to the days of cheap gas and cruising and a better care free time.  Maybe I should sell tickets!
