Since there's nothing new to report, I figured I'd post some original pictures that the 2nd owner gave me with the car.  Notice the sloppy factory masking job on the flat black & the black tape where the bumper bracket sits. Someone was too lazy to push the broadcast stheet out of the way before they installed the body plug. It's a good thing I have another; I wouldn't want to be embroiled in any future fake broadcast sheet controversy.

Mytur Binsdirti

Here's a few showing the factory placement of the stripe. Owner #2 was smart enough to take measurements and notice that the stripe is centered on the marker light. From what I've been told, the jacking instructions are supposed to be placed on the right side of the trunk lid. I guess someone at the plant didn't get the memo....

Mytur Binsdirti

Check out how the factory masked off the color transition on the bottoms of the door. It's the same on the right side.   :shruggy:

Wow that BS pic is amazing.  Looks like a bit of shoddy workmanship on that one...Built on a Friday?  ;)

Looks like that car was in really great shape before the resto.  All original body panels I assume?

No doubt !!! I've seen some nice survivors and originals in my day and there my friend, seems to be one of the cream of the crop of restoration-candidates. It is what restoration dreams are made of......

Wowee, that did look pretty nice prior to resto.  :o

So Mark, did you duplicate the sloppy mask treatment on the insides of the doors?  :scratchchin:  That's interesting for sure.
Also, as a side note, the deck lid that was a replacement on my '70 also had the jacking instructions on the driver's side.    :Twocents:

Nice looking car to start with. My masking of my '69 doors from the factory wasn't much better. My '69 trunk lid had the jacking instruction sheet on the left side also !

As yo know, when I bought the car, it had already been repainted including the black on the doors, and yes, the body shop did duplicate the sloppy masking job on the lower portions of the doors.

Yes, all original panels body panels. I REALLY lucked out with this car. There were some minor holes at the base of the rear window & some light scale on the floor & trunk pans and that's it.  But, the MOST important thing that I've recently come to realize from this furum is that there's not going to be a need for anyone to chase me around the interwebs and torture me about my floor pans.........or lack thereof.      ;)

No one would chase you......your floors were still there.....they would be considered part of the body. :icon_smile_big:

Awesome car.

I would be jealous, if I was the jealous type.

My only problem......you are making it look TOO DAMM EASY. I know better. That quality of work is hard.

These before pics are just as fun to look at as the after!

Same door masking here as well.
I understood the jacking instruction decal was installed on the same side as the jack.
Is that a Canadian car?

not sure  how accurate this is  & just my observations FWIW :shruggy: , all  the original hamtramck second generations ive seen    have jack instructions on the upper left  , & all st louis chargers  have on the lower or upper right side , mainly lower  :shruggy: , having just said this , will be original unrestored  hamatramck charger with it in the lower right on ebay tomorrow or a st louis car on craigslist in the upper left  :slap:  :cryin:

Then your car has a twin. There was one that was raced locally back in the day.
Just don't remember if it was a auto or stick car.
