Hey Guys,

My father is building a '69 B7 RT/SE Hemi Charger.  This is not a numbers matching car, originally 440, auto (we think) car from somewhere in the US.  I will get the history in more detail and include many updates as the build progress to show you how things are going.  So for now I am just going to include a shots with a little story with each.  Stay tuned as the Hemi comes back from the shop this week and we are looking at about 550 hp, dyno sheet will definetly be included!

*DISCLAIMER*  Please do not quote photos and make this thread unnecessarily long!

So here is the car, moving into it's new home after returning from paint.  My father is a bit skeptical about putting his identity on the internet so I gave him a Batman mask:

Next, a nice shot of the small carriage my father built to hold the car while the Engine/trans etc get fitted.  Look carefully and you can see the 'ghosted' RT stripe.

Next, a shot of powder coated Dana 60 with disc brakes.  A follow-up with more brakes in the near future.  Any 'metallic' looking peice is powder coated a nickel color.  3.54 gears.

Here is my recently installed LED, sequential tail lights.  I wish we started this build thread before hand to show how the install went.  I cant remember the manufacturer right now, however, overall they were pretty poorly designed.  Luckily I know a machinist and we improved their design drastically.  No battery yet so I couldn't light em up.  The taillights have the option of going sequential or standard at the click of a button.

Next, we have the 5 speed Tremec, just waiting to be installed and abused!

Here is a few shots of the undercarriage.  Note the frame connectors that are welded in to connect the front/back.  We fear this may affect our brake lines.  (IF ANYONE CAN SEND ME A SHOT OF THE BRAKE LINES ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE OF A HEMI CAR IT WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!)

Here is a shot of the new front disc brake set we got from Ebay.  We will let you know how it turns out during install.  Looks pretty good.  Drilled rotors for the front.

Lastly (for today) a shot of the Charger's home.  This barn use to house 4 horses and had a dirt floor.

1 November 2012
Powder coated my rear brake calipers.  They are from a 79-85 Eldoraldo.  I ordered brake lines as well but had a few small issues.  Update to follow:

A few more pics:  Hemi is back from being dyno'd. 511 hp at 6200 rpm and 504 ft/lbs at 3500, I will show a dyno sheet as soon as I take a picture of it.  She runs on 94, and wanted to pull past 511@6200 but I didn't want to spin it any faster.  Also, stainless steel hardlines for the brakes installed. Also, I snuck a pic of my old El camino in there.  On a side note, I HATE PHOTOBUCKET.  They changed the site and it is so much more difficult for me to share pics.

Update 11 May 15

Moved, built newer bigger garage and have neglected the blue girl.  Finished the front end today and thought I would snap a pic

First off, welcome to the group.  Yeah, quite a few people do get crazy on here, but that's half the fun.  Glad to see your guys' car coming along rather nicely. :2thumbs:  I like the fact that you chose to ghost in the R/T stripe. Very cool in my opinion. :coolgleamA: Nice shade of blue as well.
Your taillights are made by Digi Tails.  I'm looking at getting the same thing.  Let me know how they work out for you.  I'm curious.
Keep us posted.

Awesome looking so far, but I think I'm more jealous of the garage (barn). You could eat off the floor!  :drool5:

When you did the conversion work did you raise the barn and put a foundation/floor under it or did you go about it some other way?

That ghost stripe is super sweet, but at first glance I thought it was faded paint underneath an old stripe.  My next thought was 'That's the nicest paint job I've ever seen to have a stripe fade in there like that'.

It pays to read before you look :)

Ironically, I did raise the top half of the barn slightly when i installed a gigantic I-beam through the center of it....

Awesome job so far!   :coolgleamA:

One bit of advise...  just to test fitting that tremec asap.   The Keisler kit I used required cutting the shifter opening up and installing a plate as the shifter came straight up and then the shift itself was mounted on a dogleg.    You got a lot of nice pretty blue paint that is going to need to be touched up.

Yes,i am aware of that. Hopefully I`ll have a test install in a week or 2. Should be getting my motor back soon.   Thanks

Ghoste

So brakes are on and Hemi is in, is the transmission in as well then?

Nice looking car, some more info on the tail light install would be helpful. Might get them myself one day. Was the rework difficult or just miner trimming.

Mopar1979

Great lookin car! Can't wait to see the complete body. Did your painter put it on a rotisserie or did he paint on his back?
