Can I use the "field" post on my regulator for the small 12v wire on my MSD?

I realize that most just tie the original "run" wire and the bypass wire together along with the MSD trigger wire, but the way I have some of my connectors designed, this just isn't cosmetically feasible...

I know that the green "field" wire post on the opposite side of the alternator has a 12v feed, so i wondered what, if any reason I couldn't just clip on to if for my MSD signal.

No idea... I want to say it's just a "signal" wire similar to what I'm trying to hook up for my MSD.

I can't see it putting out too much simply because of the small size of wire used.

use the blue wire to regulator or ballast. OR the wire runing to positive side of coil from original setup ( no matter if with or without ballast, is just an ON/OFF trigger what will work enough with the voltage supplied from ballast )


depending on your charge setup ( elec or mech ) green wire will be positive or negative.

I don't have any of the wires from the original coil setup or ballast resistor.

The only wires have left are the "brown" start wire, and the black "run" wire that goes in to the regulator.

run wire must be blue....

to trig the MSD will need to splice together RUN and START, then splice into these the thin red. This is the only way to get power and keep on the MSD when cranking and running
