Well, that's one way of doing it.It's shown as an attachment.  Haven't figured out how to put them in them in the text yet, but give me time. :2thumbs:
Here's my pristine 69 Charger in it's Halloween costume.  It's an XP Charger with a 383 4bbl auto.  It's originally gold poly with green interior :eek2:.  Personally, not my choice in colors.
It's not as sharp as it looks.  It's got the usual rust in the trunk, rear window corners, frame rails, driver side floor board, and in the tail panel.  The quarters are new 15 years ago.  They're too long.  The right side was patched in at the body line in the middle of the quarter and took out that body line. :flame: It's also welded on the outside of the taillight panel and the corner.  Quarter extension doesn't fit right.  :flame:  The left side was welded on top of the old panel at the top of the quarter.  :flame: It's rusting right along the seam. :icon_smile_angry:  I'm getting new quarters this winter, the full quarters.
I need to find a new left fender, mine's a bondo bucket.  I got a few leads so I don't have to cough up $600 + for a new one.
Haven't decided how I want it to look, figured I get there when I get there.  It's going back big block with auto.  I got a nice pinup girl for the air cleaner. :drool5:  I'm going to have fun, that's the bottom line.

I haven't talked myself into building one yet, but I haven't talked myself out of it either.  I'm going to get the body work done first, and then make my decision.  I have all the major stuff to build one.  wheels, horn,  Everything else is paint or can be built.  I just like the picture on my avatar

Blame it on Chuck and Fred, and that darn Volt.  Actually,  when I'm on here, I'm at work.  My job has a lot of down time.  I'm going to spend more time on the car here shortly.

Go for it. if you do it with vinyl, should you get sick of it you can turn it from a GL into an orange charger.

Ghoste

To be honest, up until now I didn't think you had a Charger.

Yeah Stroker, If you's needin' anything like driveline parts, I gotcha bro. Plenty of 440's/727's (One's been upgraded/rebuilt), 4-speeds, 8 3/4 rears, etc. SOME body parts. Just holla atcha boy. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the offer. :2thumbs:  Right now, the only parts I have missing that I know of is the left corner of the grill.  The plastic part is broke to where it doesn't hold the trim and the trim itself is missing.  My I beam has some minor dings ( not surprised).  I figured I would get a quote to have the trim redone before I spend the $500+ for new grill trim.  Everything else is packed in boxes or on a shelf.

These were taken in October of this year.
We had to put a new roof on the shop, that's why it's all piled up in the back seat.  I have sense cleaned the car out and up a little bit.  I'll get fresh pix up later on.

Funny how a car can still look mean even sittin there. Gives the car a personality unlike cars of today....rusted or not like I said before pull up next to a new chally and old charger next to each other the charger will get more looks

Not everything is as it appears.  I don't tackle anything until I fully understand what I'm up against and have a plan.  Otherwise, it becomes a foolish project that gets dragged out forever and then either given up on or gets disgusted with and sold.  Just because I have a little bit of fun on here posting doesn't mean I'm not doing research as well.  I think if a few of you would pay more attention to your projects as you do my activities on here, you'd be out having more fun than making fun of me.

69charger2002

good luck on your project. looks like it needs some frame work for sure. Just more labor intensive, but definitely can be done. On a side note, 1000th post on Oct 6, it's Dec. 27th, so you've had 3200+ posts in 2 months??? GEEZ MAN you must be on here 24/7!

Good update Stroker.  Do you have a projected date for completion or is this going to be done when its done?

JB400

No projected date as of yet.  Let's start the metal work and see how fast it goes.  I'm still buying toys so I can get started on it.

JB400

Just a bump. Nothing new to add, except for accumulating a few parts over the past year.  But, I've noticed some interest into what I have, mentioned a few times, both in pm and on the message board.    Don't expect much progress on this until March and April. :popcrn:

1974dodgecharger

If road kill could get their up and running in 9 months im sure you can too and they scavaged parts left and right just to get a running charger.

Nothing will be perfect stroker, NOTHING.  I say get it running then upgrade what you need to do instead of trying to get everthing in one shot and then putting it together if that was the case you got many long years ahead of you.

JB400

Buying a few random parts here and there is to just keep interest in the car directly, while I tackle bigger and better things that benefit me as a person in the long run, and the Charger.

If you want a "running car," I can have that in a much shorter time period than what they did.

1974dodgecharger

well they had to scavage parts they actually didnt have all the pieces to get it running. They had to buy the head lights, get tranny, engine, etc...

Unless you have some money lying around and just dont want to spend I could understand.

My car was on jackstands for 7 months while I saved up to upgrade, do little things, here and there....all in the 110 plus heat in a little garage.

Ill let u deal with your car, how's that  :2thumbs:

Ghoste

Yeah, do it how you want Stroker.  There are tons of people who restore the car first before driving it so no need to just make it run and then cobble it back slowly over time.  I think your balls are getting busted because you have whatever it is, thousands of posts in the word games and only a single obscure photo of your car.
There are no rules for either dude, when the car is ready its ready.  Period.  (and you aren't even obligated to post pics of it then  )

JB400

Hasn't changed much, for those that inquire.  But, I will say special thanks for those that I've been lucky enough to buy parts from.
