I took my last 500" motor build to the chassis dyno today. I mainly wanted to see the fuel curve.  I have been messing around with my fuel curve trying to tune it with my LM-1.  My fuel curve looks good, the results are:
Max HP 590
Max torque 568.31
That was without the air cleaner.  With the air cleaner:
584.83
558.28
I don't know why it lost 10 ft lbs of torque going without the air cleaner.
Recap of the motor build:
500"
Indy SR 295 CNC
Solid Roller
272/276 @ .050"  .610"
Mopar 337 Manifold with 1000 CFM 4150
12.75 CR
On the engine dyno it made 708 hp

that's pretty awesome having 700+ HP on the motor. I bet she moves.  Is it street drivable?

Those are good numbers Brian but it does look a little lean up top....assuming those a/f readings are correct. The top end flutter past 5k rpm seems to bear this out.  :scratchchin:

It probably needs more jet but the power number looks great  :2thumbs:

If you could get it to hook and launch i would think it's an easy mid 10 sec combo  :icon_smile_big:

hey ron. i dont know what was up with the dyno.the first couple of runs, it would not get a good sample. he had to mess with it to get it to read a complete run. also the first af ratio, was way off too. it read 14.7-15.5. i knew it was wrong because i have been tuning with my lm-1. my results were:
idle 14.5-15.0
cruise 13.8-14.2
wot 12.5-12.7

i had him change the sensor, and it read alittle high also. i have 3 of the same combo,s and they all use about the same jetting. i think if it was that lean, it would ping like crazy and not make the power it did. like i said the car drives perfect. as far as hooking up, i dont think it ever will with 255/60 tires. now i can be going about 50 mph, downshift to third and nail it. the tires will spin so much that it will wheel hop........still alot of fun thou.
i have had funky dyno readings before. this was my charger with the 580" motor. this is a different dynojet.

Those are excellent numbers....can't ask for anything better. Nice job on that Carb !  :2thumbs:

I have more faith in the LM1 than any chassis dyno. Seen lots that had "odd" A/F readouts like yours yet the car seemingly runs fine ?  :scratchchin: Sometimes i wonder about tire slippage on the drum and how that affects the results ?  :P

At any rate, the motor is making the power it should be based on the engine dyno results so you should be happy....i would be  ;)
