I called Specialty Wheel just now to take advantage of the group discount.

Not so fast. Kelly isn't there anymore, and neither is the discount.  :'(

I heard the same thing, thats the reason I went with American Racing Vintage 500's.

You might try talking to Eric.  I just ordered 15x8's for under $145/wheel.  Good luck.

I talked with Jesse first, he said the discount was still on. When I called back, Zack said the discount does not apply.

They can't figure out what they're doing down there anymore. I figured this might happen once they got bought out by Cooper and moved to California. From what I understand, Cooper owns both Specialty and Wheel Vintiques now so there's not much real competiton these days.

Right, sorry. I knew it started with a C.

Right you are! Eric sold me the 15x8s for $143 and change, as opposed to the usual $169.60. Thanks again for the tip.

I wonder if it's the difference between speaking to the California Coker Crew vs. the guys in Tennessee. Eric is definitely in TN.

Maybe the group buy post should be updated to indicate Eric as the point of contact.

If you PM me Eric's contact info I'll get in touch with him and see if I can get something solidified to do that.

I called their regular order line, 800 959-5800, and asked for him. I should have asked him for his extension.

Received my wheels today and wanted to provide some feedback on my 15x8 chrome magnums for those considering.  Overall I am somewhat disappointed in the quality.  Two of the four wheels had inadequate prep before paint in the painted areas, time will tell if paint peels but rough finish visible now.  Prep in the barrels of all four wheels was minimal prior to plating.  That area won't be seen but speaks to quality of prep.  Welds appear okay, but certainly not things of beauty.  None of the four center caps came with any screws to attach caps to backing plates.  Spoke legs in all wheels have divots that I don't recall in factory wheels, will have to check that out.  They will look good on the car and certainly will be improvement over 14" road wheels, but cannot say I am terribly impressed.  Makes me want to see a set from Wheel Vintiques, which are a little cheaper.

Vintiques is owned by Coker. Specialty is owned by Coker. Don't expect much.

I called Specialty's order center in Chattanooga, Tenn today trying to get this figured out and talked to a guy named Zachary who is now our contact for DC.com discounts. He told me we still have a discount and it is 12%, but that it may increase to a bigger discount in the future. Not sure what that means exactly but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. I will continue to work with Specialty and see what we can do over time.

Once things are more set in stone so to speak I will update the Specialty Wheel group buy thread to reflect the latest info on the topic. In the meantime I ask that you please refrain from calling Specialty for the sole purpose of getting nasty with them over the gaps in service. I can tell you with 100% certainty that no one at Specialty did it to inconvenience anyone here.

As I said, currently our contact is Zachary and he was the person who answered the phone when I pressed 5 to speak to a real person. For now, do NOT attempt to generate any discounts through Specialty's website. If/when that is a possibility I'm sure they will let us know. The phone number for Specialty Wheels is 800-959-5800.

Zachary's email is zachl@specialtywheel.com

Just got this back from Eric at Specialty, whom Zach asked me to email regarding the particulars about our history with Specialty:

"Thank you for sending me this information.  I will further look into this information and come up with a updated pricing structure.  Pricing will be different from 2009.  We will gladly help out as much as possible, and do what we can to keep our relationship building.   Please allow me some time to work on this for you and the forum.

Thank you,
Eric Davis
Customer Service Representative"

Ok, someone finally got back to me today. Not a real quick turnaround from January, obviously, but better late than never. I will be revamping the group buy thread with the following info. Here is the latest from Specialty Wheel regarding our dodgecharger.com discount:

"Ok, I'm sorry that we haven't reached each other in quite awhile.  We will continue to extend a discount for your forum.  Generally per wheels will be a 20% off.  I want to be clear on saying Generally.  Not everything that we are selling will be available for a discount of 20%.  Please let me know if there's anything else that I can help you with.  Sorry again for not contacting you sooner."

I want to say right up front that I'm grateful for any discounts that I can receive on merch.  And thanks to Bull for working on our new discount.

But, I want to submit this for your consideration. :scratchchin:

Some of the products have been sent out as 'sub-par', as stated by other members.  I'm a natural skeptic (which drives my wife crazy, by the way) and maybe we get items sent to us that are "blemished" so to speak, cause we are getting a discount.  Of course the company won't admit to this, but could it be their way of getting that stuff out the door?  I mean, human nature would say a good percentage of us would accept the blemished product and not return it because we  "got a deal".  Just food for thought.

I am planning on contacting them next week about a possible purchase of 15 inch Rallye wheels and tires.  Any updates since the most recent set of posts.  I am planning to trying to contact Eric.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Last I heard we're good to go. Not sure if the tire thing ever worked out but the wheel discount is 20% on most items.
