QuoteAs the venerable Mustang approaches its 50th anniversary in April 2014, Ford is preparing an edgy new design that borrows familiar styling cues, but should make the sports compact more appealing in global markets.

http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2012/09/07/2015-mustang-to-be-offered-in-right-hand-drive-europeans-version-wont-get-the-5-0l-v8/
Quote"A large part of the project will be to re-engineer the platform to accept right-hand drive, likely to entail re-positioning key componentry from the engine bay and front axle to package the new steering rack and steering column," states the publication on their web site.

European muscle car enthusiasts will also be said to hear that their version of the Mustang might not include the option of the 5.0L V8. "The British Mustang is also likely to miss out on the archetypal musclecar engine — a throbbing 302 cu in (5.0-litre) V8," says AutoCar's report. "Instead it's tipped to be powered by a 300bhp-plus 3.7-litre V6 or a 250bhp four-cylinder turbo EcoBoost, most likely of two-litre capacity."

I like it.

I like that red rendering, the front end actually has a snake head look to it!! The blue one  :eek2:
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

nvrbdn

im not in favor. the horse in the corral needs to be centered. not the side emblem moved to the front and the horse moved to the back. the rear wheel wells look like a kid took his car to body shop in 1976 to put fat tires under it. :rotz:

the front of the blue one looks like darth vaders mask. :shruggy:

Indygenerallee

Red one looks the best but I agree the red one needs the rear wheels put back under the car!! The blue one is attrocious and I guarantee that will be the one Ford goes with!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Ghoste

Do you really think they are that different?  I think its some optional trim and the angle and lighting that makes them seem different.  I think the red and the blue one are the same? :shruggy:

NYCMille

This is a car that had to evolve. Right now the current Mustang is the last true pony car on the market - big v8 up front and a live axle out back. With that being said, Ford has really done a remarkable job with a platform that dates back to the 1970's. The Mustang will be lighter, a bit smaller in dimensions and will most likely offer a V8, however I'd bet we're going to see a twin-turbo version of the ecoboost engine in there. Turbo's are nothing new to Mustangs. They had the SVO and Turbo Capri's of the 1980's and honestly, they were pretty good cars.

In order for them to compete with the new Camaro Ford HAS to revamp the car. I've driven the new GT500, Boss 302 and actually just bought a '13 GT, however for when it comes to flat out performance in corners, the Camaro wins hands down. Straight line stuff still belongs to the Mustang however. As for Chrysler... we'll see what the new Cuda' offers, but that's still some time off.

Mike DC

I agree that the red front end looks better and they'll probably pick the blue one.

God, I'm so tired of "angry kitchen appliance" styling on every modern car being made.  That, and "ball of clay dropped on the ground" overall body shapes.

Indygenerallee

Ghoste, both of those are renderings and the red car is different than the blue one by a longshot.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Ghoste

Sorry, looking at it on a very small screen at the moment.

Looks good from the doors forward, but the back end looks like crap. The flared quarter panels with the cheesy little windows has to go.

It is nice looking, at least the blue version. Not a big fan of the 70's fender flare look either on the red one.

In my opinion there is no better performance car on the market for the money. 420 hp/390 lb.-ft. of torque, 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, .92 on the skid pad.

Not hating it, expected worse, just not feeling it.  I see a bit of the cobra stang in there or whatever they were called, the ones before the 05 model.  So this is just the rendering?  Meaning that's the best they could come up with and now they'll take all the good stuff away to make it into a production car?  Oh boy...   :nana:

So much for coming out with a "New" Mustang. :rotz:  To me, it looks like they didn't venture to far from the one that is currently in production. Basically, a new hood, and extended the quarter windows into the door.

I guess I'm just about as disappointed with this car as I am with the new Vette.  I'll have to see what Chrysler brings out next year. :popcrn:

HIDEOUS.  The current Mustang is perfect, IMO.  Personally, I think they peaked with the '99-04 Saleen Extreme (Hollywood Homicide), but that's just me...

This Aston martin is not bad all hopefully they can win over some Americans since the euros love it Lready.

I love it. Can't stop looking at it. It has to be the best execution of a "redesigned retro car" ever. That's very hard to do. Ford did a great job.

Cooter

Agreed. At least they didn't follow the popular thing today and make something hideous looking to where they all look like Audi.

Not a fan of Mustangs in general but I like it...even though it kinda looks like an Accord coupe.

Can't argue with those power #'s though.

Chrysler better step it up. Kind of a moot point for me, since I don't foresee buying a new car anytime in the next 5 years.

Looks pretty good to me, but I'd be more interested to see if the wife likes it, I'm trying to get her into a 2 door, as we don't need a 4 door anymore, she'd be more apt to go after the 6cyl or 4cyl over the v8, which is fine with me.  I'm not giving up the challenger yet, but she's due for a new car next fall when the eldest graduates, it'd be a good time to pass on the nissan to the kid, if she wants to buy it for a good price.

Nose looks like a jaguar to me, and i'm not that into euro imports, but know she likes them.

If the car looked the way we really want then it would sacrifice many advantages of a modern car.  And we would complain about that.

FINALLY they gave the Mustang an independent rearend.  It's long overdue.

I like it, not in the market for a Ford but I think they did a good job of combining the Aston Martin with the Accord and retaining some retro.  You can't do a retro car and then abrubtly change, you have to back away and I think Ford did that over the past few years.

The wife likes the looks of the new mustang, so there is a chance I can get one of those in the future, we'll be in the market around Sept of next year, maybe they'll be out by then. It will likely have a six or the four in it if available in the US.
