Anyone here ever attend the Moonshiners Festival in Dawsonville, Georgia?  A friend told me about this and said there is always a good car show along with it.  Surely some of them are even Chrysler products.  He's more of a Fordx guy so he was mainly checking those out but he said there is a good turnout of both shine runners and law enforcement vehicles from very early until more recent.
Somebody on here must have attended this in years past, is it worth the trip?

Wow it sure does, much bigger than my buddy led me to believe.

I attended the show several years ago. Pretty cool if you like to see  the gear they used and original examples. Lots of 40's Fords. There were a few Mopars, I think one or two were even decent resto's. They have other mountain type exhibits. Food, crafts, etc.

Sadly, no real moonshine.   ;)

Don't know that I'd recommend a special trip to go see it, if out of state. But, if you do, there's lots of other cool stuff to see. Just up the road is Dahlonega. You can pan for gold there. The kids will love that.

That makes sense then as the buddy who was telling me about is big into Model A Fords.

If you are into the history of stock car racing, you will meet a ton of the old school mechanics and lesser known racers there.

And there's the Dawsonville Pool Room which was the major Bill Elliott shrine.      We went out of our way to stop for lunch there some years back.
