Hi to all, One question here: what's the going price for 68 buckets that have great working tracks but need to be re-padded and re-covered? - Thanks, Dave M. Oh, and they are the non-headrest kind.

Sam, $300 sounds a little expensive for seats that need new foam and padding, especially non-headrest seats. I would say more along the lines of $150-$200. Just my :Twocents:

if you know a guy that has a good set of rebuildable 68 low back charger seats for $150, why haven't you bought them. if you don't want them, shot me his # i need a set for my roadrunner. here's the only set on ebay and there missing there backs. plus 69 seats with the headrest are the hardest to find in rebuidable condition.

Yeah, well this cat sold the buckets to me for $300 - but he did throw in A LOT of exterior stainless for a screaming deal, (for example all the rear window stainless for $20) and much more, so i don't feel too bad. At least I have the correct year buckets and nearly all the stainless I need... DM

Really tell me where and who and I will buy them.................................................................

I looked all over but could not find them, the last set of 69 headrest buckets I did
see sell on ebay were core's and sold for $450.00, this hobby is getting totally out of hand.

68 + 69 bucket seat frames are exactly the same whether they have headrests or not. The factory are not going to make different bucket seats just for head rests, to fit headrests you need these bits in the pic. If your gonna buy these bits off E-bay be careful as people are listing bench seat headrest stuff as buckets. Bench stuff is totally different.

I went through 3 sets of Charger buckets. Two individual seats (only one was good), a set (again, only one was good), then I broke down and paid the $450 for a set of complete, nice condition frame '69 seats with tracks and headrests. The old way I blew $75 for each for seats, since it was eBay and the sellers lied about conditions, I ended up having $300 into a pair rebuildable seats with no headrests and no back panels and only one good track. It was worth caughing up the couple of extra bucks and getting a nicer, more complete set of seats to restore.

A little thing I figured out after all this is to judge the seat core condition by the condition of the tracks. If the tracks are rotted, you can bet the frame inside the seat is likely worse.

i learned that the hard way too. you usaully get what you pay for. Rene

i agree, pay extra & get the best possible.
My 500 was missing a drivers headrest seat, i ended up having to buy 5 seats (total $700) just to get a good drivers seat. Not all bad though my 68 now has headrests, sold 1 for $75  & i've got a pair spare to sell.
