Does anybody know where to get original or reproduction advertising wheel discs as used on front wheels of some 1969 Plymouth Roadrunners. The disc usually has Plymouth or Dodge on it and it does not spin with the wheel. Appears to bolt to the front wheel hub grrease cup. I saw them on some cabs i believe in las Vegas , but could not find out where they got them. Any help would be great.  Thx

Ghoste

The only place I've ever seen them was in the classifieds of MCG or the larger Mopar swap meets like the Nats or the Michigan WPC meet in January.  I would ty the want ads at Moparts maybe too.  As far as I know, no one is reproducing them.

Real old ones are generally quite expensive. There are a lot of reproductions floating around. It is best to know the difference when looking.

Ghoste

Never knew of repros, are they still being repopped?  BTW, how do you tell?

The Road Runner promo stuff looks cool.  Bet it fetches a small fortune nowadays.

I don't believe there are too many good "magic tricks" to collecting. I think time and looking at a lot of things are a far better teacher. My belief is that the market price for a real set of wheel disks is right up there. Personally I wouldn't be too keen to find I paid a real price for something that was pretty new based on a just one thing I saw.

I look at the front, back, material and a dozen other clues and it is possible I could still be wrong.

Here is a few photos of my NOS set of 1969 Dodge Wheel Discs.   The ordering paper shows them on a Super Bee, so they were definitely available on muscle cars, not just trucks that has been previously mis-reported!   The bag of hardware is unopened.   It was wrapped in the old newspaper you see from late June, 1969.

So, yes, a '69 Daytona could have had a set on them in the show room.  :drool5:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

the Dodge pieces look pretty strange, at least the Road Runner discs make sense. I wouldnt put cowboy hats on my wheels! :2guns:

Would the discs have fit only 15" wheels, or would they have worked with 14" steelies as well?

Never even heard of it before, does the Road Runner get much screen time in that film?
