I put this on the 71-74 Charger site but didn't get much help. I had it in the wrong section. My fender tag has the following codes.
6X 28 END
M26 M31 N41 N42 R11
J25 J45 J52 J54 L31 M2`
V4W U A57 B41 F18 G54
KB5 S1B6 000 114 110757
E58 D34 WH23 L4G 186...
My questions: The original vinyl top I removed in 1988 was black. It extended from the top of the back side windows forward and down the windshield posts - is this top available? It had slotted tips but the rear valence did not have the cutouts - the exhaust tips were below the valence. I have a valence with cutouts - which to install? Blue cutpile carpet was in it and my wife threw it away. What color blue carpet should I order? Had the wide side stripe in black - gloss or matte? A/C installed by dealer - use it or go modern aftermarket? Dealer installed Cruise control - keep or discard. Clock with flipping numbers installed by dealer - keep or discard? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help. The S1B6 is the bench seat with cloth inserts and vinyl skirts. I haven't seen those seat covers on Legendary's site. Any opinions ob why a black vinyl top was on the car - no signs it was a replacement top. What about the tips and valence?

tfdub

Removed the drip rails and it's black vinyl under them. Removed the fender tag to look from the backside and it's definitely a V4W code. Anyone encounter something like this before? A white vinyl top with black Ralleye stripes and blue interior is unusual(and not a good color combination in my opinion)

XP29H9

That sounds weird to me.  Would you happen to be able to post a picture of the fender tag?  Maybe the person changed their mind when the car came into the dealer and had them put a black top on it instead?

XP29H9

I do think that a KB5 exterior and a White vinyl top is a common combination though.  Don't know what to think about the black ralleye stripes though.

Chargerguy74

I'd imagine the 6X is a V6X code for the stripes.

I have several pics including one of the fender tag, the black side stripes, the mopar chronometer (clock) and the mopar dash a/c controls but they're too large to allow me to post. Any suggestions for posting?

Chargerguy74, you are correct. I took another look at the fender tag and the 6X has a faint  V in front of it for a V6X. Is this the black side stripe?  IF so, back to my original post, how do I restore it? With a white top and black stripe or with both of them black? It's the blue bench seat interior and I'll dye the black replacement pad to match the blue and install the blue carpet. What about the rear valence without the cutouts but with the slotted exhaust tips? Has anyone ever seen the tips without cutouts on the rear valence?

Here are some pics that Terry sent me to be resized.  Check em out!

This is a pic of the clock that was installed and it has the pentastar logo with the numbers as follows:
3592709 housing.  3592706 clock   3592711  07902 on back.

Passengers door Rallye side stripe - black. I removed the stripes 3 years ago but didn't do the jams yet.

XP29H9

Dealer installed a/c controls. Hoses and all parts still installed but disconnected. I'll probably hook it back up. I've owned trhe car since 1986 except for 2 years when I sold it to a teenager but eventually bought it back.

Another pic of the side stripe and vin decal. Pic of fender tag. So, back to my original questions in th post on DodgeCharger.com - how to restore. from the factory or with these add-ons?

RallyeMike

I've never seen a Chrome tip Rallye that did not have the cutout valance. I'd put one on.

Frankly, a small block 74 Rallye Charger isnt a huge attention getter. My jaded self would find it interesting because 1) There are not many 360 cars restored to look at, 2) the interesting dealer add-ons.

Lastly, I'd go with the vinyl color for the roof that is on the tag. It could have simply been replaced at one point due to to damage.

Another great example of a car built a bit late. The scheduled production date on the fender tag is three days before the actual build date on your Mylar door sticker.

That clock reminds me of the ones yo could get in the C-bodies in the late 70's.

A little history on this car. I bought it in 1986 for $1500 with 90,000 miles on it. It still had the small dingle balls all around the windshield hanging from the front inside windshield frame as well as in the back window. My wife took those out immediately. We drove the car about 30,000 miles before I had to rebuild the numbers matching engine - a lifter quit rotating and wiped a cam lobe. The exhaust tips were tucked up tight against the rear valence which collapsed the slots on the tips. I have both types of valences in my stash of parts. I wonder if the car came in with the white vinyl top and the black stripes and the first owner didn't like it and had the dealer change it out. It has a dealer installed cruise control - it has the pentastar on it- that's slightly different from a factory installed one. My first inclination was to take off all the dealer installed items but now am leaning towards finishing it the way I got it - minus the dingle balls. I'm wondering how the white top would look with the black stripes and blue interior -anyone seen one like that? I have another 74 Charger I'm going to build just like I'd have ordered one back in the day that also has no rust issues. I plan on building that one as soon as I finish this one early next year. I appreciate the insight you're providing me. Thanks.

I think Chargerguy74 had Phoenix Graphix generate one?  At least that is how I read it in the first post.  (link below)

Post a photo of it if you do get one.  Sounds like a cool color scheme.

Interesting.  I had the same dealer installed A/C in my 73.  Black vent face as well instead of the fake wood-grain.
I believe that clock is from 75-79 Cordoba/Charger/Magnum dash.
