Any Mirada owners on here?

The first new car I never bought was a Mirada.  Saved my money for a down payment and when I went in to order it, they were discontinued.  I still like them but I've never owned one to this day.

I had one, bought it probably 20 years ago and drove it for four or five years until it succumbed to frame rot.  318, but it always ran well, and even my wife liked the looks!  The only slight problem I had was the grille, a coup[le of the horizontal "slats" were starting to sag a bit.  I had hoped to save it but back then with no $ and no time to fix the front rail I traded it off on a S-10.  Big mistake!
I still like the styling, and if I can find one (especially a console/CMX package 360) I'd be real tempted to have it in the garage.

The sagging grille was a common affliction wasn't it?  I wonder if there are any left anywhere that don't have the saggy slats?  I wonder if there were any that didn't sag within a couple of years of manufacture?

I still want a black on gray t top Mirada....beautiful car. But considering the quality of that era, probably not many have survived.

Cool car though.

Drove a couple back in the day.   In fact, I think I have prom picture in front of a maroon CMX with a fake convertible top.  What did they call that? Cabriolet?  Was never crazy about those tops, but, on this car,,,, it really worked.

They were good cars.  They had pretty decent fit and finish for a Chrysler in the dark days.  In Chrysler fashion, it was a the right car 4 years to late.   Had they come with a bow tie on the grille they would have sold a pile of them.

I had a 1982 Nighwatch blue with leather interior and "T" tops

I use to really like that car.

I've got a friend that still has his, he found a fiberglass brace that mounts behind the nose and supports it- I think it's something someone made up in their garage and sold, but it fits nice and cures the problem.  I'll have to see where he got his, it was a few years back but the car still looks great.

Good idea.  His must be the only one not doing that.

There is a nice one for sale on moparts right now. 1982, t-tops, minor rust, only $2000. But it needs some other work. They also put 360 heads on a 318, so its probably old dog slow.

The sagging grille made the car look like it had a stroke.
