Welcome to the group.  I hope he reduced the price after he stripped it.

ACUDANUT

Man, I would have backed out, or found another Charger. Hope you got it dirt cheap.

I think I see a lug nut that can be used.

Welcome aboard.  I hope to see that car alive again.

Edit:  You added more pics.  It's coming along nicely.  Keep it up!

I think he did you a favor by taking the tail panel. Looks like he took the trunk floor too.
Nice to see another one being saved. That's quite a project you got on your hands.

Good luck.  I think trading a 98 V6 Camaro for it is a good deal even with it stripped.  Did the AMD parts come with the car?

Giving away a 98 Camaro to get a 69 Charger is always a positive thing!

But let me get this straight.  You go look at the Charger, you agree on a price and when you come back to pick it up he stripped it and the price stays the same?  That's probably one of the strangest things I've heard on here.

In any case, congrats on the acquisition and good luck with the resto.

Unless the AMD panels came with it and then stripping the rusted panels off may have been a good thing?

Obviously the panels were shot so even if it did not come with the new stuff, the old still had to go so it's not like the seller kept the good stuff.  I just find it very odd that someone would do that.  Once someone tells me he or she is buying what I'm selling, I'm not touching it anymore.  Weird stuff.

I agree they had to go, but I would never want someone else doing it.  Even if it had come with the AMD stuff I wouldn't want it done without my blessing (hence my question mark).
On the other hand, we don't know the whole story, maybe the seller thought the buyer wasn't coming back and started stripping it for himself?

That's a good point.  Maybe he did think the deal was off.

And I agree, I would want the car to remain as it was.  I'd rather do the work myself.

Alex needs to get back on here and tell us more about the car.
I notice it has dual exhaust, factory 383 four barrel car?

I hate people that strip after you say you'll buy it.  Had someone do me that away.  I backed out.  Glad to hear we have a new member whose putting one back on the road.  Looks like he has the General idea.

here what it looks like now after 3 years it was a trunk and its in one peice. and looks like a charger. Sorry had to take the girlfriend  to work. So the story is I hound the car on craigslist vermont I went to look at it on my way to mass. When I looked at it the only thing that was missing was the grill front seats and consol thats it So I was looking at it and the guy told me that he had a GL from the movie the one that went through the barn on two wheels. Any way he told me that all he needed was the chrome and he would sell the rust I mean rest. So I agreed and went to mass... Later that wee he called me to set a time to go get  it so we loaded the camaro and went down. When we got their the car was on his flat bed with the back cut off and he even cut the 1/4 off.  He also took every thing off that would unbolt. So I talked to the guy that went with me and he said O we can fix it :brickwall:. I almost just left but I didn't.. So we loaded the charger and the guy comes over to me and says well I have a bunch of charger parts I will sell you :flame: he said he only needed some of the parts for his movie car. So we left before someone got hurt..... so we got it home and started in on it nothing came with it I got all the AMD stuff my self it was a 383 auto but got a 440 for it the 383 will be rebuilt at some point because it is the right engine for the car...
