SUPERBIRD GETS Viper 6 speed T-56 installed into a B body anyone done it ??

I've seen a few T-56's locally for $900 but I think $1500 is a good starting point, seems to be the median price.  That bellhousing is pretty pricey as well!  Still, I think it's more than worth it, I can't wait to have one of those behind the 440.

becarefull the GM t-56  and ford T-56 are not as stout internels and with a 440 not sure how well they hold up
  make sure you get a Viper one and they do cost more .  I got super lucky finding mine for 800.00    also if you do go with the Gm T-56 it has a bolt on rear yoke instead of a slip yoke on the rear of the tranny


     

Good to know.  My wife's TA has a T-56 behind a 350 but that engine has way ore power than my 440.  I'll look for the viper trans though.  Are the gear ratio's the same?

 new console Boot came in

a fellow Road Runner forum memeber send me a free reverse light
  didnt feel to comfortable about that so sent him 25.00  , it not perfect but will work great for my driver .

new pedal treads and chrome dress up's for them  ( Herbs parts ) on the treads and the boot ( boot was drop shipped direct from BE&A )  lol you can go direct to the source if you want .

    I'm repurposing the old console boot into a lower floor hole coverup boot should work well 


   needed to cut the top two rolls off it and stretch it out sideways but it will cover well  and just need to drill 4 holes and screw her down

I've had the new throw out bearing for a month but just havent been to motivated
  My oldest son come over yesterday and we got it 1/2 way installed


   new rear tranny seal going in also , common part only 8 bucks from oriellys

  my new harbor freight jack works great for a manual tranny

   new bearing had to pull the roll pin and change out the quick change viper fitting for a screw on fitting for the screw on line from the clutch master .  then bolted her in . she is in and ready

  tranny came out quick , but was fighting us and didnt wanna slide back in so we quit about 8 pm last night and will start fresh today

trannys back in now getting a socket big enough to set the rear seal snugged up and then the drive shaft goes in
       just needed three people to man handle it back in
