2000 Caravan and the cruise control only works some of the time.  Is there a typically failed component that the pros go to first with these?

Okay thanks.  It seems like sometimes it turns on but then won't let you set a speed.  Sometimes you set a speed but if you slow down or try to change it you get nothing.  If you brake it will turn it off but it won't come back on, just a pita thing.  Anythime it stops functioning after it has come on, it won't turn off the dash light if you try and turn it off completely even though it isn't working.

speed sensor can cause this, have you noticed any erratic speedometer movement? There is 2 speed sensors on it a output and input best to replace both at the same time.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Horn works but oddly enough after trying the horn the cruise seemed to work better after that so maybe there is somethng to the clockspring suggestion?

Who would have thought there would be a minivan forum?  I guess there's one for every niche. :2thumbs:

Charger RT

a scan tool that can read more then just engine computers and has data would help here.

There is for an astonishing array of consumer products.  A huge number of them are actually put up by the manufacturers without making it generally known.  I strongly suspect minivans fall into that category.

Yep, and I'm a member of a Ford Maverick Forum as well....
