Nice Brian.... but you as a body guy, tell me something : I've been told once that if you take your time you can paint a car yourself without a spraybooth.
Thing is that i put that into my head with the idea of giving it a try. I might consider white for my own car since it was the factory color and they say that white is a pretty forgiving color for a unexpierienced guy.

Ok I know I would probably need to practice and the chace of dust in the paint will be larger but if you wet sand the car afterwards the results could  very well be more than OK.
I've seen too many cars with an expensive paint job that look like sh*t and I also got ripped off with the last car I had "professionally" painted.

I don't mean to Hi-Jack the thread but you might want to look into your local community college.  I took a couple auto body classes at mine.  Across the shop were 2 top of the line paint booths.  All I had to do is take a $150 paint class (one day a week) and they would have let me shoot whatever I wanted in there.  It seemed like a good idea to practice for a few months on the "class material" and then use their paint booth to shoot the car.  Only thing I would have to pay for is paint/clear (I could even use their guns).  Once I find my car that is the route I will probably go.  Best of luck!

Thats beautiful and i actually kinda like the 69 taillights on it, defiantly unique, and the reverse lights kinda match the markers. :yesnod:

Very nice work. I still would bite the bullet and put the 68 taillights in before paint.

With Brian's skills he could change over to a '68 tail panel in one day, and nobody would ever know the work was done!  :2thumbs:

:iagree:  With all your work and investment so far I think you should sell the nice '69 tailights, buy a AMD panel, and get some 68 lights.

Your paint quality and body work is so good the job doesn't need to leave "wrongness" in place.  :Twocents:

The other factor is that someday this car will  be my sons. He is a dukes of hazzard fan big time, and may decide he wants a General someday. This way it already has the 69 tailpanel. The other thing is that with the things the car "needs" money spent on that leaves me short enuf. Plus I kinda like it like that. And noone is more stunned by that than me.

I agree, it looks real nice in there.

Nice job on the car, sometimes I miss bodywork but it helps to watch a pro.   :2thumbs:

Thanks guys!

The wheel is a grant aftermarket 15" model. I liked how it looked somewhat mopar. I grafted a stock horn button onto the chrome grant one and viola ,s stockish looks for 150.00. and its not so thin to hold onto.

It looks great, the 15'' wheel beats the ''thin'' gig hands down . Mine has the vinyl cover on it with the piping wrapped around it, which looked good until 2 days ago when I saw ''made in china '' embossed on it  :o :'(

Those spokes remind me of the 1967 B-body "recall" woodgrain steering wheel.  I agree, it fits your car better than other afrermarkets I've seen out there...
