Hey guys. Here is my story of my charger. My father purchased the car when he got out of the army back in 69. It was original light green with blue interior. It was and still number matching with 383/727. Its options are a/c, pwr steering, pwr brakes, buddy seat, remote driver side mirror, pass mirror, 3-speed wiper motor, am radio, column shift, vinyl top and headrest.
Growing up, we had a 10 acre field and my brother and I used to play dukes of hazzard in it and tore it up. We didn't know any better than just having fun. We ended up ripping the exhaust off and filling every nook and cranny with dirt. The car ended sitting outside for  years. Well one day my dad got interest in the car and had the motor rebuilt and a macco paint job done to it. He was proud of it. After that he ended up letting the car sit in the garage for years. After I graduate college I asked if I could work on it and of course he said yes. I was really excited. So I took it under my wing and cleaned up the interior and engine compartment. I also added crager ss wheels. After that I ended up giving it back to him because I got interest in another car. Well years went by and cars came and gone. My dad still had the charger in the garage and always asked me if I ever wanted the car back it would be mine. At this point I had a little money saved up and I took him up on his offer(nov 2012). He gave the original title and keys and said its yours and son, don't ever sell it. I said dont worry I wont. One request he wanted me to do but I just couldn't do it was put the original colors back on the car(light green ext and blue int).  He still liked my color choice.
So a little about me. I live in las Vegas, I'm 40 years old, married and 2 girls(10 and 6) and a 2 year boy. I have a engineering degree but sell plumbing for my father's plumbing company. I started on the car last November by pulling every nut and bolt off the car. I wish I would of took more pics but this forums has helped me out a lot.  I had the paint and body work done here in vegas. I have done everything else myself except putting different gears in the rear end.  I will attach pics from when I got it(Nov 2011) to today(Sept 2012).

And that is where I am at as of today.  This is my first restoration and I have made alot of mistakes where I had to take parts off and on several times and several more times, but I have made alot of progress from June 2012 when I got it back from paint to now(Sept 2012).  I want to say thank you for my wonderful wife for those late nights in the garage and thanks to my kids for helping me out when I needed that extra hand.  My plan is to have a turn key by the end of Oct 2012.
