Tony this is a front bracket for a 69-70 which is stamped steel

68 used a larger cast iron piece

BB water pump housings changed in '69, so the front A/C brackets won't interchange between early and late.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

ah ok!
so if my bracket wont fit now i guess i have a 69 front bracket bec i think i have a 70 water pump house,
the water hose nipples are one thin and one thick
is it possible just to change the front bracket to a 70 then?

Sure, but why not change the waterpump housing to the correct one instead?

Yes but if you can't buy one locally and you have to have it shipped to Sweden + pay tax on it, it may be easier for a member here to sell and ship you a good used housing.  I wish I had a spare to send you.

THanks for for all answers!
If i decide to keep the water pump on the car and use a 70 bracket would it be possible to even see the difference?
One thing i wondering is what the extra two bolt holes on the 70 bracket are for?

Im trying to build a factory looking car as close as possible but every parts are so costly:)

i already came a long way with the engine bay :( sad to be messing with the water pump again

'69 and '70 WP housings are the same, if the bracket won't fit it might be earlier.

On '68 and earlier housings the last three digits of the casting number are 007; '69 and later are 987.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

bobfist

Ah ok, so the housing these two years are the same but just the nipple tube size diffrence?
Did the 68 ac have a look a like front bracket as well mounted in the water pump?

Checked the water pump housing and it has 987 at the end.
So what you mean is that the water pump housing 69 70 are the same both years and i can have the 68 ac front bracket , thats my problem?

Looks like the one I have/pictured....except for the damaged hole at the bottom.

I would assume that's where it doesn't fit?
